Looks like a simple lenco ram, with some sort of custom plate system. I bet a bunch of these companies are going to pop up.

I personally think a system that is on the side of the boat (malibu) works better then a bottom of the transom system. That is why my nauticurl works so well on my 24v.

Please don't take this as a challenge or an argument to your assumption/opinion... I am just wondering; have you surfed a new Malibu and compared it to say a new Supra SE or Tige ZX5? I would be willing to bet you a beer you would change your mind on that assumption/opinion if you haven't.

I have looked into the surfgate style but my hull has an odd shaped point right at the waterline that makes the slappers a bit more complicated. I am interested in both options as I use a suckgate now and it seems to work well. I am just looking for automation. The problem I am having is the swim brack is placed in such a way that the only thing I have seen to fit correctly is the system that germaine marine? use to sell. not sure if they still do. the way it connects to the hull and goes out before going up and down is what makes it fit. I have a metal guy that can make plates if I get the dimensions but at this point I am just exploring all options.

I have surfed a new Malibu MXZ and M235 and new Supra's. Last years models or 2017, I honestly don't know which one. Malibu's wave was better then the supras, I think the M235 was the best. All are Good to great waves. Honestly most new boats throw a good wave, which is pretty nice. Gone are the days of modifying a brand new boat to surf better. Sadly we lost our area's Tige dealer during the last economy collapse. We just got a new one, but very few Tige's in the 08-17 range on my lake. So the newest I have surfed is a Z3. It was ok, but needed more weight and some tweaking, they had the biggest stock ballast you could buy.

I think boat makers do the other style gate system (lower transom) to get around Malibu's patent? I could be wrong, but it's a thought. But if I was going to do a system on my boat (24v), I would copy the malibu placement or exactly where my nauticurl is on my boat. Since it's a proven location.

I still haven't surfed a boat with a better wave then mine, but new boats are getting closer and closer. Hopefully this summer I will get out on a ASR or ZX5 or something newer. Also really interested in the newer moombas. The hulls look pretty darn amazing, especially for the price. Also really interested in the new centurion waves, they look bonkers, and friends that are surfing pro's claim it's the best.

We have the same boat, I have a cut down swim deck (cut to not touch the wave), I would probably attach the lenco rams to my swim deck mounts.

Duffy, our boats are very different. I could slap some gates on your boat no problem. Look up 08 tige z1 and look at the side profile back at the transom. it is much different

Sorry I thought you had a 2006 24v for some reason? I don't know where I got that idea. The sides of a z1 do look a bit goofy!

Just to throw this out there, I think most prefer a bottom mounted version vs a Malibu version as they are a lot easier to steer. A suck gate or nauticurl doesn't seem to affect the steering as much as its typically at or before the rudder, where the Malibu gate is behind it so becomes a new rudder. While I haven't driven a newer Malibu with a factory gate on it I have driven one 1 year older with a modified version and it was terrible to drive vs a bottom mounted 2018 Moomba that was super easy to drive. Both had a pretty nice wave though for not being 100% dialed in.

Duffy how did the MXZ or the M235 drive with a factory system on it vs yours with the Nauticul?

I never got to drive a malibu with a gate, but I have been on so so many. Nobody (owners, drivers, wifes) ever complains about it, soo I assume it's fine? I have to hold the steering wheel firm when we surfing the nauticurl. Then, when the rider falls, I turn the opposite way and go pick them up, doesn't bother me in the least.

I surf a hybrid listed wave. Basically full surf side. I would say 75% or so full opposite side. If the wave is dirty, I dump opposite weight or move people till it's clean. Nauticurl furthest back and lowest I can put it.

Sorry about hyjacking this thread. The surf system looks very nice, my only concern would be having it modified to fit our transom area. It also looks fully manual (non auto), which isn't as cool as some of the systems. I think a system would need to get to speed, then deploy the gate, then when throttle is pulled back, it would retract, like a factory system.

I just ordered an InfinityWave surf system. I don't have a Tige, but my boat is a deep V so I would think it will be similar.
I have been using a Nauticurl and have 4900lbs of ballast on my 24ft boat. I should have the system in 8-10 days and will be installing it pretty quick. Happy to share the info/reviews if you are interested.
I have wanted a surf system for a while but could not swallow $4k for GSA, so I jumped on this when I saw it coming out and some tweaks made to make the system work well. I don't see why it wont be great, probably just take a bit of dialing to figure out the system. Tabs direct water under boat and to the wave, so I may even see an increase in push. I will be stoked if the wave is equal to what I have now since its excellent. If it gets better or even adds some strength/push to the wave cause of how the tabs direct the water, that will just be a bonus.

I just got around to looking at this. Looks very similar to GSA geometry as far as actuator mounting angles. I like how many hole options there are at the plate to play with geometry/deployed/stowed angles. One things for sure, I would be using a bit more hinge than that the Malibu pictured. Seems like a lot of stress for two relatively small attachment areas per plate but I tend to be overkill on stuff. Im sure its got a bunch of hours on those hinges.

I'd be interested to see if this has an application on my z3 to make the wave better and price is by far better than the gsa. it was only a matter of time before more competitors challenge gsa and create a similar product for less money.

thinking this is similar to taps3 only not as integrated into the electronics?

The cool part about GSA is they've done it for a while and I believe its Ryan that Ive talked to over there. They have quite a bit of real world experience now and know what boat hulls benefit more than others with GSA and settings needed more than others. Elevated has some real world experience with GSA on Tige hulls as well.

I think the aftermarket automated surf systems is just starting to catch up with the shaper market. 3-4 years ago there were only a handful of slap on shapers and they werent cheap. Now theres a lot more options and cheaper.
My question is who will provide the best service/warranty on the backend of the sale?? Should be interesting ro see where it goes.
