I always run premium in my 22ir, never had a problem in 350 hours. hope i wasn;t doing anything wrong. running 87 would be a nice break on the $$.

The dealer told me that running anything higher hurts the engine. Not sure if he is right, but ya know. Also, higher occtane breaks down faster so if you don't use it right away it could be a bad thing.

I just called Mercruiser to confirm what we have been talking about on the grade of fuels... they said to ONLY use 87 - and that is what their engines are designed to use(except the Black Scorpion). I (and my wallet) are relieved as now I will be no longer using 91!!!!!

I get about 4 gallons per hour of use...........I can go about 12 hours with my 22i. I usually fill it around 10.5 to be safe..........I just forget about my ski season gas bill..........its expensive, and that's that.........what can you do about it? Its even more expensive when you take people out for the day and they throw you $5........like that's going to fill the boat!

Have them turn that $5 into $20 before they can even step foot on the boat.... dont forget, they need to bring the drink and snacks. Still cheaper than a theme park.. lol
