    GAS!

Just wondering what kind of gas do you guys use in your boats?

Diamond Shamrock (Valero), Shell, Exxon, Mobil, H.E.B, Walmart, but never stop & go.

Just kidding- 87 octane is what mines designed for (Merc 350 MAG MPI), so thats what I run.

I guess the older 350 Mags are different. Mine is a '98 model and is requires 91 oct. premium.

Hey Banks... I am up in OKC and have been talking to Dom about hooking up and doing some riding. We should all try to get together maybe at Arbuckle sometime this spring or summer. I own a company that manufactures trailer guide pads and some other stuff for dealers all over the country and we make them directly for Tige Boats. It would be good to hook up with some Oklahoma Tige guys!!

I'll doublecheck the manual when I get home, but I believe it's 87 octane, which mainly depends on compression and valve timing.

Early model Black Scorpions required 91 or better oct. I recommend running mid grade fuel (89 oct), it appears to be a more natural fuel. 87 is old 89 and 91 is souped up 89, they just add chemicals and those chemicals are what leave deposits in your injectors as the fuel sits and gets old(2-3 weeks).

I think it is the same for all except the Black Scorpions... it requires a MINIMUM of 87... and states "91 or premium is also acceptable"
so just like in a car that says "regular unleaded".. running premium wouldn't hurt.... I have always run premium in mine since it was new a couple of years ago... in addition, a lot of on lake marina I have been to only sell premium, so I just stick with the good stuff....

IS that really true about the 87 just being old 89? I've never heard of that. I was told NOT to burn anything higher in mine then 87 since the other stuff is bad on it. I've never had anything wrong with mine and I run 87
