Help?! Ordering 2019 Tige RZX3.....all black?!?

Hi all, new here. I’m in the process of ordering my dream boat and I’m stumbling a bit. I’ve always thought I would go all white with natural brown interior or all black with natural brown interior. After multiple trips to the dealer, I felt it would be a shame not to include some of the awesome flake paint into my design and I started to think the all white might make some of the beautiful lines of the boat disappear. That being said, I started with the silver metal flake as the main accent (the slash in the middle of the boat) and the rest all white. Well....3 days and 15 designs later, I submitted my build sheet for an all black metal flake, including the mid deck (new for 2019 but Tige hasn’t updated the build sheet yet) with the main accent (slash in the middle) being white frost. So essentially this is an all black flake boat for the most part. Now my dealer is sent back the build sheet for me to look over and approve before it goes into production and I’m getting cold feet about the all black. It hit me like a nightmare last night thinking about people’s in the bow restkng their arms and hands on the edge of the boat. Then I got to thinking about how much maintenance will be required to keep that black looking good. It’s already a pain on my black truck. But, that being said, I’m wondering if the metal “flake” will help hide scratches (those tiny ones from washing that inevitably show up). My next concern is how hot thing thing will get in the summer sun. She will be stores indoors when not in use but just like every summer, we are out at least 2 days a week all day on her. Anybody have any thoughts on the flake and the heat plus the keeping it clean? Am I crazy? I’m crazy.....I’m in a tailspin here. Help!? Pics below for the boat I built

Just remember that black metal flake isn't black. Its black metal flake. Which means it's more silver black.
      Oh Yeah!

As gorgeous as black looks I'd never get one. Anything makes them look dirty. They will require cleaning every session to remove water spots (if you care about that).

As for heat, I wouldn't want any surface that touches people to be black / seats included. Even here in Canada it's too hot to touch.

My boat is white and it always looks clean. I once went a whole season without wiping down the exterior. It has wax for sure but no daily wipe downs needed if you trailer it every night.

I personally like white better than black so that's a consderstion too.

White would likely resale better too.

Absolutely go back to the white. Looks cool with the silver. Black is the absolute worst color to have on a boat for the reasons you already know. Why do that to yourself? Being on the lake supposed to be fun.

FWIW, the first thing I think of when I see an all black boat is “D-Bag”. It tells me you are more concerned with appearances than actual boating. Not that it’s true, its just the first thing that pops into my head. I know I’m not the only one.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

First off, welcome to the forum and congrats on the new RZX3! You are about to get a tremendous amount of varying opinions on this one!!

I have and love all black boats! When clean (and that is a when), its hard to be a black boat. I don't have metal flake in mine - but my next one will for sure! I think you are right on the money, the flake will help to hide the swirl marks...

As nice as that black looks, I also would stay away. The white is clean and will be easier to maintain and handle the sun much better! Congrats on the soon to be new purchase!!

my last tige had white top/bottom and black flake in the middle. it was a subtle flake. it was much harder to keep clean than the white and I swore to never have a black boat again due to that. I keep my stuffs clean but black was too much work. all imo..

as far as top deck, here in the hot southwest I would NEVER pick a dark color for top deck. as Johnnie mentions, you will never be able to touch it in the sun. in wisconsin when I was there, dark top deck was not a big deal. sun is much different there.

me? i'd order the white all day long.

Thanks! I took these samples home and stared at them quite a while this past weekend. Love that all black flake but my doubts are piling up. I think I’m headed back to the white...

I think it's wise you came in here and asked for the feedback. With that said, I would take it all with a grain of salt. In the end, it's your $ and your boat! Congratulations on whatever color you pick!

The bow of my boat is black and it can get hot as hell. That being said it hasn't been much of an issue but again it's really only the bow. It's either young kids that are sitting in the front or someone like myself leaning over at a tie up where I catch my forearm on the black gel coat. Not that I'm big on doing it with any boat the other issue with dark hulls is beaching. Black and even my blue show scratches big time. I will not beach my boat for this reason. Just from going on/off the trailer I have enough brush marks on the my hull from the bunks. The dark colors do show all your water spots a heck of a lot more as well.

A lot of the marks shown below were present when I bought the boat and others I suffered along the way. Even with a huge mud flap running the whole length behind my trunk I still get rock dings as shown in the second pic. Owning a dark colored boat is just as much of a pain as owning a dark colored vehicle.....it shows everything but they do look pretty bad *** when all cleaned up.

As Kool Aid stated, with the flake in it is going to hide a lot of the water spots and be cooler than pure black. I used a boat with black flake on it and just wiped it down after each use and maybe used Babe's Boat Brite every other time.

White for sure. Then as much flake accent as you can get. My last boat was mostly blue solid. It showed everything that touched it. And by show, I mean little scratches here and there. Cleaning it each time out was no big deal and it’s pretty satisfying to go from a day or two of water spots to perfect and slick. But..10 yrs from now I’ll bet it would be a little rough. My last one (before my blue one) was 18yrs old and looked pretty good cause it had a ton of white.

My next will be white with flake trim...prob black or silver. The silver flake is always great looking.
