    Warranty Question

Hey everyone, just a quick question. On my 2005 24v, I have some cracks in my deck. There are several around my dash, and a couple around my tower mounts, and a couple from the handle bars in the bow. Are these normal? Seems like a lot. I'm sure they will get worse over time. Are they something I should worry about?

No the cracks are not normal!!!

Take it to Matt at Boats of Nevada he will fix it.

        Hey guys,
sounds like you had a good time at the reunion. I wanted to come, but the wife didn't. She wanted to go to the cabin and play in the snow instead. Maybe next year! I sent some pics to Matt with the cracks, and he sent them to Tige to see if they are warranty or not. They didn't like my pictures, they couldn't see the cracks very well. I need to take better pics to send them. Then Matt thinks they will take care of it.

I think that the written warranty says 1 year on gel coat cracks, so if it has been more than 1 year, they are going above and beyond the written warranty.

Given that you have so many, it suggests a bad batch of gel coat or abuse...I hope they take care of you.

I dont mean to be negative but I bet they dont fix them. My boat did the same thing and even though I worked for the dealership selling Tige they wouldnt cover them after a year!

My boat is full of them and I'm talking big long cracks. My boat is 2004 and if Tige doesn't do anything about I will be choked. You are telling me that I am supposed to expect the gellcoat on a $72,000(can) to only last for two years before it look like a crap! I will be looking elsewhere in the future if that is the case!

Yeah, the gel coat is only a one year warranty. I am going to be taking my boat to the shop to get an estimate to get them fixed. They drive me nuts to look at. Just another winter project to take care of.

Feel bad for you guys....My boat is nearing a decade, and no cracks anywhere.......guess they don't make them like they used to!

No cracks showing on mine after 1 season/140 hours - garaged, pampered, and sits under a ceiling fan on high to dry out after every session.

I removed some teak hardware from my last boat (a Glastron) that my rope was always getting hung up on and had the holes and some cracks filled and and gel-coated by a reputable shop. The color-match (light grey) was good enough, but the problem I found was after a season or two, the holes and cracks started to show through again. I hope you don't experience this w/your repairs, and Really hope I don't begin having a cracking problem w/mine.

now that's a great Idea, I may just put a ceiling fan over mine to help it dry out!! Sounds swell!

You'll get alot of ribbing from your Boys, but likely they think the ceiling fan is a good idea, too - functional and cool (and cool).

Added bonus - install one w/a light-kit to give you some extra adjustable spots for those late-night projects. It also makes for a nice atmosphere spot to chill and watch a game on the garage TV when I'm in the doghouse... I spend WAY too much time in that boat.

Also: beware the rotating blades :-/. I've had my fan up for probably eight years, and finally got cracked (in the back of the head - obviously could have been worse) this summer. Yes, the fan was on high, and yes, it left a mark :-/. I was loaded - prepping the boat for the next morning's session - so I kinda deserved it.
