Dude, the amount of work going into this, looks so good.

2 questions - Any chance we can steal an updated picture of the amp rack/mount? Love the look. Also, did you rip out the factory balast? Assuming your Z1 and my 22VE are basically the same layout, it looks like your batteries are where the balast tanks should be, and the TAPS motor is gone? I may have missed it in your earlier description.

My boat did not have factory ballast. Taps is still there with 2 batteries. On the port side I have my main cranking battery and noco three bank charger. I have not started my ballast install yet. I will get you some pictures of the amp rack tonight.

        My winter project build thread!

Quick Update! If you happened to see my other thread I had a couple issues with my Wetsounds Audio Install, I would like to give a HUGEEEEE shout out to Albert Pinada! If you guys have any wet sounds equipment and need help or you want to purchase equipment in the Houston Area give him a call! He is incredibly knowledgable and more than willing to help!! My whole problem was related to the remote controller from the amps.

So I have the whole sound system wired up, and it freaking rocks! It is close to tuned, not quite perfect but SO far I am very pleased! The only thing I am not so sure about is the 12" FA sub.. it lacks some thump for sure but I am still working on getting it just right!

I had to get a tapered bit and some new screws for the speakers as the screw is a little bigger than what was with the 650s.

My ballast stuff came in and I am super pumped to get that project going but I have to finish up a couple things first. I am going to post some picture in a second but here is the list of things I still have to do.

        Audio
        -Finish installing speakers
-Finish the RGB Install Just have to finish all the connections
        -Secure the Amp Rack
        -Tidy up the wiring/Secure wires
        -Finish the head unit install

        CupHolders
-Finish soldering the LED strips and connections
        -complete install

        Miscellaneous
-Drill hole for the USB Charger in the helm
-Wire the RGB controller to the ACC switch on the Dash (wires are already run)

        Floor
        -Complete Templates
        -Cut EVA Teak
        -Sand High Spots/Rough Spots
        -Lay floor

        Engine
        -Change Spark Plugs
        -Replace Impeller

        Ballast
        -Complete install
-3 Zones (2 Rear Sacs and 1 Bow)
        -Reversible Pumps
        - I need to figure out best place to mount the pumps

More progress!! Tonight was a great night.. tidied up quite a few things and starting some sort of end in sight. Only issue left on the Audio is when I use the aux feature on the rgb controller I get a slight hissing sound from the speakers.. not noticeable at volume but wondering if that could just be the quality of aux cord? Maybe insulate it? But here is a little sneak peak.

Looking awesome man. Makes me want to find a trailer, pull it into the shop, and strip mine down (Not quite this much, but at least the stereo.)

I get the same noise when I have my LED's on throughout the boat. As you say, you don't notice when music is playing but at a break in the song you can hear it. I have two small controllers up underneath my dash. Seems like a common issue. The brand new Pavati I was in did the same thing and have heard the same issue from others.

BC, it was only when the aux was in. as soon as I took the aux cord out the noise stopped...

What about when you switch to the tuner or some other source? With no AUX in, the system may know there is no input and not push audio out. Its obviously a lot harder to test since it's hard to make a Tuner or CD source "quiet" like an Aux with no signal...

Some more updates... finishing the install of cup holders and rgb leds tonight!

I had a buddy cut the rings out of cutting board and bevel the edges. They turned out phenomenal!

                        Success... getting things together

Now the ringing noise is a little worse even without the aux cable in.. not noticeable when music is on but still annoying to me nonetheless

That's a big box of Pampers. I know you're working hard, and you have a lot of work left to do, but it's okay to take potty breaks.

Dang, I'm bummed to hear about the static in the system. The lights look awesome though. Worth it? Could it be a bad ground in the controller sending feedback through the common ground? Seems like a Mike question... I wonder if (as a test) you could run a single dedicated ground back to the battery from the LED controller to the battery to isolate it and make sure thats not the issue? (I'm not an expert... So, let me know if there is no way this could cause the issue. Just pondering grounding problems)

Yeah it is not super noticeable so I will play it by ear and see if I want to try and troubleshoot it. I wired the controller to the acc switch on the dash and to the ground bar... Next time in the garage I am going to get the wiring finalized and all loomed up. Overall I am extremly pleased how everything turned out... I will now be able to begin the ballast and floor projects! I have about 3 months to get everything done!

Ok, I got everything worked out and was able to clean up a bunch of the install. I got the amp rack hung, still have some looming to do but was also able to get ballast wires run and the cup holders in.
