I believe there will be a ZX at PK this weekend. Personally I think if you are a lead "user", you will always be a lead user. Lead is just awesome... Having said that, the ZX1 and ZX5 are both really, really good stock.
yeah, you're probably right. looking forward to checking it out on the water (if weather holds)
I personally like a pickle fork but if the ZX boat is that much more refined in the wave department then I would take whatever boat performed better for surfing.
I can love with the weird pickle v styled nose if it’s better.
Having said all this building a boat requires big investment and I can’t see Tige walking away from a hull that is only 4 years old.

This sounds like the upgrade I have been looking forward to. ZX5 is just too damn big for what I want, ZX1 would feel like down sizing... ZX3 would be perfect!
Faster fill times seems to a common thread, and bags with water left in them is the other(complaint). Since Indmar went to the higher output alternators I feel like the reasons for sticking with aerators is becoming less and less. Reversibles for the win. Plus reversibles dont have to be attached to thru hulls and can be mounted in all kinds of other nooks and crannies not to mention freeing up some bilge space.
Unless we are advocating for the use of the larger Ballast King or dual pumps, the current 1200 GPH aerator used by Tige has about the same net flow rate as the Ballast Puppy and Ultra Ballast. Yes, there are advantages to going with a reversible impeller pump, but speed is not necessarily one of them.
Tige should switch to a faster aerator, like a 2000 GPH. Its a large pump though.

Duals would be okay. Dual Johnsons even better IMO as they are cheaper and just as good as the Jabscos (also just my opinion). I haven't dug into the model, but MC is using Johnson's that have a massive impeller and what I believe to be 1 1/4" hose, regardless ballast fill times are crazy quick on the x24 and x star when we had them out. In all fairness the x24 runs 7 of those big Johnsons.
With check valves on the vent lines reversibles seem to do a much better job at sucking bags flat. I think if plumbing changed for the reversibles and the stackable thru hull valves were used the fuel tank could get a bit bigger as well and extend down either stringer a bit more and do a wrap around the v drive. Just my thoughts and opinion. Ive also heard rumors that Tige is choosing to option the 230A alternator so why not.
^^ Agreed. Or even in that hole thats molded in the middle of the fuel tanks. We get them dry, you just have to lift the tongue 5 ft in the air with the forklift Super good for torsion axles(rear axle takes all the weight while lifted)

30 GPM and 30A continuous. So 3X the flow rate of the puppy and ultra and likely 3X the cost.

Even today, seems those rv gates last about 2 seasons, then fail. My next complaint, its all or none. Even with less then accurate ballast gauges, you can fill to a desired point.
