Couple of speakers stopped working on my 2015 ASR

    Hi all,

I'm guessing it is something super simple, but I have a couple of speakers that just stopped working. I'm guessing a wiring or short or something.

I have a 2015 ASR with the Polk and WetSounds speakers all around, 4 Rev10 tower speakers and wetsounds amps.

The speakers in question are the rear two port side speakers by the seating area. They worked fine up until the last time I took her out and they just don't have any sound output.

I looked at the speakers and they are at least attached to the feed wires, but I got a little lost with the three subs. Any easy way to determine where they flow to?

Also, there is a high pitched sound that comes out of the tower speakers even when the system is at low (or no) volume. Thoughts?

    Thanks in advance!

This pair is wired to one chnl and likely receives a pass-through signal from chnl 2. protect light flashing a code? So if both bow speakers work, this pretty much eliminates the RCA. I would check the wires into the chnl 4 on the amp for a loose connection. Odd for both speakers to blow at the same time and both not producing any sound, so confirm the hole speaker is out, not just the tweeter. the mid-bass, if working, wont produce a lot of sound, so it may sound like the speaker is not playing unless you get close and/or touch the woofer. Even if one of the leads came off at the speaker where the parallel connections are made, the other speaker would still play.

Are both tower speakers omitting the noise? Is the amp set to stereo or mono? RCA tight at the amp and head? Power cables tight at both ends?

      Thanks for the quick response.

Both bow speakers are working fine. I don't see a protect light flashing.

I didn't hear anything from the speakers (not just tweeter). I'll check again when I get home.

I'll have to check the stereo vs. mono. I assume stereo, but I haven't spent a ton of time playing with it.

Open up the amps and you’ll notice all the wires going into the amps. My port speakers stopped and just had to pop the connector back in.

          Thanks for the suggestions guys.

It looks like the system is set up as mono (same sound from all speakers). I didn't get a chance to open the amp, but look to do it tonight.

Any idea what the high pitched whine from the tower speakers would be?

If the tower amp is set to mono, switch it to stereo and see if the noise is isolated to one side. Then concentrate on that speaker and chnl.

              Thanks chpthril and bsreid!

I popped open the amps and saw that the channel 4 connecter was disconnected. I popped it back in and the speakers fired up!

The high-pitched sound is only a bother when the volume is set to high but the source is paused.

This can be due to a high gain level. Either the amp gain or source unit AUX or BT sensitivity levels.
