    Possible R23 Purchase

Hi everyone, this is my first post here and I'm seriously considering purchasing an R23 or possibly an R21 depending on some dimensions. Living in Montana we try to keep the boat indoors as much as possible when it's not in the water. I have some limits on space, and was wondering if anyone had actual dimensions on the R23. I don't have an issue getting through my door since my current Malibu (don't hurt me) and my previous 2 FourWinns fit through without issue. I know the beam is 102", but the length could be an issue with some other items I have to store in the same bay. Is the 23' to the back of the swim deck? Does it come off easily? Can the TAPS retract for storage?

Looking forward to your response possible new boat.

    Thanks,

    Alex

The stowed TAPS positions will be above the plane of the hull, but not tight against the hull. They still stick off the transom a number of inches.

The R23 is actually 23’-8” not included the platform. The platform comes off easy with 2 people and an Allen wrench.

Thanks for the replies, sounds like I should be ok, but a little tighter than the current boat.

A Z3/R23 is just shy of 26' with the swim deck.

Taking off the swim deck will probably only save you about 8 inches. And take into consideration the trailer winch portion.

An R21 is 23'10" with the swim deck attached and trailer tongue folded in.

Not sure if it's an option for you or not but when we were deciding on which boat the final check list item was having our dealer bring up the model we were looking at and do a dry fitting of it in our garage. Did all the measurements but figured best way is for to actually just put it in the garage.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I have 26 feet of length, so I should be good with either model. Unfortunately, my dealer is 90 miles away so a test fit is out of the question. We will visiting them in a few weeks to review actual color samples.

my 2018 R21 was also going in my garage everytime and I measured 3 times lol

I had 24ft of depth, it fits....just with less than a foot of room with the platform on...taking it off isn't fun really. It goes in my 95" high door and misses by 2-3 inches...and when in the garage 112" or so to the top of the tower, I have 116" so it fits like a glove in my garage and Im very happy with the boat after 70 hrs on the lake this summer
