Just checked my armada says it will tow 8500lbs! Guess I'll be okay.

Be mindful of the GCVWR as well as the tow rating. My Avalanche is tricky like that. They book says it can tow 8000lbs, but that is against a combined rating for truck and trailer of 14000. That only leaves 6000 for the truck. With me in it and a tank of gas, it is over 6200 already. So everything you add to your Armada comes off the trailer. And I'll be the first to say there is no way I would tow 8000 with that Avalanche. I added a Supercharger and even then I'm not sure I would do it. My boat weighs in at 7000 when its fully loaded and that was about right for me.

I got to surf behind the RZX20 last weekend. Awesome Wave! Awesome Boat! Bow rides really high and had a little trouble moving all that weight with 3000lbs ballast full and 4 guys in the boat. Overall very cool 20' Boat. It feels so much bigger than my RZR. Tons of interior room. This boat is Massive for a 20'er.

That seems crazy that it had a hard time moving the weight, do you mind elaborating??400 Raptor in it?? Would love to find out what prop was on it.

I don't remember 100% but pretty sure it had the raptor 400. Same as I have in my RZR which weighs 1000lbs less and has 1400lbs less ballast. I have also upgraded my prop for surfing so in comparing the 2 it was much different. Compared to other big boats its probably just fine. They did have to move a guy to the bow once to get it up on plane. Not sure of the tranny ratio. Elevation is near sea level. Yeah the boat is pricey but MC and Nautique have some 100k plus 20' boats too. I'm curious what the real world price is going to be.

Sounds to me like the bow plug and play was not installed or it was not full. Got it confused with the early ZX1's.

                    Should I go for it?

Anymore thoughts on the RZX20? Was going to buy a Malibu 21MLX, but then I discovered this boat. Definitely feels more roomy even being a foot shorter. The slightly bigger draft/beam seems to make a huge difference. Do you think the extra weight will make it feel under powered? They really packed a lot into this boat. Based on what we have seen it appears it would be hard to similarly spec a boat from most any other competitor at this price. In reality, it seems like it would be hard to even get a lot of the features on other 20-21 ft's.

Anyways, I would appreciate any opinions. This would be our first Tige, but I have followed them for years and feel comfortable with the company.

Someone will most likely chime in but I believe the rzx boats from 18 on all have the 2:1 transmission.

I have a 2018 RZX2 and that’s what’s in it. My previous Tige was rz2 with the 400. It had the 1.5 to 1 and once loaded with lead and people it struggled to get up to surf speed.

Back to the RZX2 with 2:1 and no issues. It’s heavier, had more people in it and lead surfs like a pimp!

Pretty sure the 400 in the rzx 20 with that trans will make you very happy!

                        RZX20

Went to the Seattle boat show today it was all I could do not to walk out of there without trading in my R20. I will most likely be putting the R20 up for sell and getting the RZX20 that boat is sweet. So wide so deep and had the 400 2:1. But the price that was offered for trade in won’t cut it.

I have a layover in Seattle next week and wish it was long enough to go to the show

For the same price why don’t you pick up my rzx and I’ll get you something decent for trade in? Message me

I know I didn’t even think to pull out the phone to take pictures. Man Mastercraft was putting on the full press they were everywhere in there. If I heard it right Seattle boat purchased the mastercraft dealership and the Nautique dealership and they just purchased a small dealer that’s up here on my home lake. Might be good for Nautique because they were horrible. So now I will have a dealership that may carry Malibu/Mastercraft/Nautique 2 minutes away to bad not interested in any of those.

You didn’t like the Nautique guys? I’ve got friends who are very good customers and have nothing but great things to say about the dealership. They were at the VIP night last night too. I’ll have to ask next time I see them if things changed.

I’m in the same boat as you, my close dealers are all brands I don’t want.

I am just basing it off of my personal experience. I went in after work one day. So I showed up in my work truck and it was a day I was helping the files out so I think I was judged on what I could get. They didn’t want to open anything up let me look at anything. Granted I ended up choosing an R20 which I am super happy with for what I use it for but now looking to grow and get a little more wave and something where I don’t have to worry about burying the bow in a wave when I have bow riders.
