Prop and cables just don't mix. Very surprised it didn't chunk him over the windshield.
    Oh Yeah!

Holy mess, that is not what I was expecting when I started watching. That did not look like a good time. I might have a new fear of avoiding all things floating with a line attached now, even if its a simple fishing line. haha.

We might need air bags now.

I'm no guru on ski courses but why wouldn't the other buoys move? Aren't they all connected when it comes to SL courses or at least the 1 or 2 courses I've seen are.

Some of the complex courses submerge when not in use- you use a remote control to raise them- pretty great concept that keeps the yahoos from mowing down your buoys. they are also anchored with heavy footings and i'd bet that's what he hit- grabbed one of the steel cables and became a u-boat captain. unreal.

Drive appears to be okay. Very scary situation.

                    Yikes.

Our local news is reporting on a guy that was just turned into chum. No details yet, but speculation is surfing with an outboard. Boats can do bad things.

Josh, you are going to want to check the video when you get a chance. Pretty crazy stuff. Im amazed the course markers dont have some kind of breakaway device so that this can happen.

Saw a guy with a crownline and what looked to be an 1100# fat sac ratch-strapped to the swim deck to list the boat. Looked to be a decent wave but scary to think of a forward fall.

Especially considering it stopped the boat in its tracks. Count the markers in the photo from the time of impact to the time the boat was sideways. Didn't even wash over to the next one.

I'm curious how he hit the steel mainline. All the courses around me use a steel mainline 4-5 feet or more below the surface and then have bungee cord to sub bouys that then connect to the marker bouy via more bungee.

Hopefully the boat did not capsize, in the last frame you can see the port side lifting quite high.
