If you had a drop indicator you could double sided tape it to the hull and rotate the prop to see if the shaft is bent. Do it in a few spots and you will know real quick if the strut and shaft took damage. Is the rudder loose fore and aft? Does the steering feel tight?
    Oh Yeah!

Sure looks like the strut has been disturbed. This could lead to a bent shaft. Id look close at the rudder also. Tight spot in the steering usually means its bent.

Still not stoked about it but Reflecting on awesome summer. 92 hours since june 30 on the boat and 63 hours on both jet skis. Little guy learned to surf and skiing much better. Now the boat and one jet ski down within two days of each other. Id say its was a great run. Season about over but i refuse to end it like this.

The strut is tight. No movement or noise from pushing pulling every direction. Rudder is tight. Steering is not binding but i havent been out and up to spped since this happened to really test it.

Prop is off. Cant believe it would cause that much vibration. I ordered same prop but am wondering if i should try something else. Probably wont have much else to report until prop comes in. Thank you all. I appreciate your time and feedback. I will follow up.

Just wanted to post a quick follow up on the boat and vibration. Installed new acme 525 and got about 90% of the red rope that had melted to plastic out of strut. I didnt want to dig too deep and damage anything. Back strut screw by the cracking was loose and took abiut 1.5 turns before it tightened down. Took on test run and id say 85-90%. Still have a minor vibration in one spot but can definitely run now.

The “new” acme propeller looked like it had been filed or sanded on one side of one of the fins. Is that normal? Glad to be back out before end of season. Thanks for all the help.

Yes. Thats where they balanced it. Its not a defect, refirb or blem.

Thanks chpthrill. Since the prop does not appear to have sustained serious damage, where are the best places to send to have it re-worked so i have a decent backup?

I’d send it back to ACME and have them fix it. That being said, the only prop repair I have here ain’t worth moosetit. You may have someone local.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.
