Keep us posted and holler with any Q's.
I agree and disagree. The disagree: 400 hours does not mean anything if the boat is well maintained. My Ford truck with 45K miles...has 1400 hours on the motor. A little bit of apples to oranges, I know, but the engine will last a lot longer than that if the fluids were changed and maintenance was done.

The agree: Because most people do not use their boats much, the perception is that 400 hours is somehow bad. Because lots of people think that, it will hurt resale. It is not based on reality, but perception.

Those boats have way too much wood/carpet in them in my opinion. In the r23 at least it is only that one area. But to me it comes off looking very budget boat etc.
There isn't any wood in the Malibu, but they do love their carpet.

When you stated the dealer for MC was 2 hours away and the Tige dealer is next door, it makes me say Tige all the way if their service department is decent.
    Be excellent to one another.

I dont get the hangup over badging. If my Fiat did the exact same thing the Ferrari did then why give a hoot???? That R23 is a Z3. Like I said, Chromax Z badging is still available. The right call to the right people and you could badge your R as a Z3 and only serious Tige guys would know what you did. Heck, you can go nuts and badge that boat as a ZX2 if you knew what to order and tell people its a one off. Just stickers and letters.

Important parts are that its a proven hull/running surface, and in this case of this boat as optioned the ONLY thing that makes it less than a Z series would be the non quilted interior and a few small panel changes. Otherwise it is a Z3 option wise.

Seems like the price point you are shopping at that you’d might want to look at the ZX1 or RZX2.

On the badging thing. Those stickers aren’t cheap and I would say you would be in serious trouble if you sold your r23 with a stickers on them.

Also as a bmw m series owner I can’t tell you how bad it bothers me when I see a 3 series with a fake m badge on the back.

That is a matter of opinion. I think the '15 and late Z/R23's came with sufficient ballast if you regularly bring friends. For a day out with just my wife and I (no spotter required in MO), we like having some lead in the boat to replace the push I lose when my human ballast...err friends...are not around!

^^^Similar prices, I’d take that all day long over either the MC or the R23. 300hr is nothing. And you still have warranty. And the big depreciation hit has already occurred.

You’re absolutely right. It shouldn’t matter, but it does. I’m not even in marketing and yet I realize name brands and even brand recognition. Lucky Charms or Lucky Puffs (or something like that)? My wife says Lucky Charms. My kids don’t know the difference.

Just going to point something out here if you haven’t read the fine print on the warranty, I don’t know this for sure but most 5 year warranties top out at 500 hours.

I have a 2018 RZX3 my neighbor on the lake has a 2017 X23. My opinion the RZX3 is a nicer finished boat on the inside. The touch screen is easier to use while pulling someone and making changes to the wave. The X23 controls are much harder to use in my opinion. The wave is close to the same, I think the RZX3 wave is taller and firmer. My friend has told me that my interior is nicer. The side to side transfer is about 2 seconds faster on the RZX3. Again these are just my opinion.

Any reason you aren't looking at the 2019 ZX1 for the same price from that dealer?

And they want 130k for an R23 that doesn't even have the Z3 interior? What did you guys pay for Z3's just last year...were they $130k (which puts you in RZX2/3 territory)?

Thanks so much for the info. I want to give Tige a fair chance.
this response is late, but yes run front ballast empty, or 20% on surf side only. taps 4 and 4, speed 10.8, go from there

Would you still buy a Ferrari if they changed their name to Fiat? You want to tell someone you just paid $250k for a Fiat?......... "NO, no, no. It's the loaded one... It's nice."

Is that a fair example though? The bones have been the same.

Your example makes it seem like a malibu to Axis type of deal. Anyone who has known the brand which is what you are referencing would know that the hulls have been and will continue to be the same. Ferrari to Fiat?

To me this is no different then GM having the denali but also offering the SLT trims all under the same name. Super smart move given the Z line evolved to the ZX.
