Pretty frustrating really. I've tried a few different cleaners and so far this toothpaste is the only thing that has taken the dirt out of the cracks, leaving a truly white vinyl. This has been the case on my last two boats. I'm a big fan of TA for cleaning the boat. I found it to deep clean WAY better than boat bling and that that is only using a 10:1 mix. A quart of TA last a LONG time. I won't buy Hot Sauce anymore as I like Hula much better for the water spots and the smell is much better.

    Haven't tried boat juice yet.

What products have the same purpose as 303? Like would I be doing the same job twice if I put down Boat Juice vinyl cleaner and then followed it up with 303? I thought 303 was just a UV treatment, but some are cleaning with it.

303 is a protectant layer, more of a conditioner. It's similar to the Boat Bling Vinyl Conditioner, the purple bottle. Boat Juice combines the functionality of the Boat Bling Vinyl Sauce (the cleaner) with the Boat Bling Conditioner into one step, and I like it. The Boat Juice vinyl cleaner does a great job getting stains out of my vinyl but, more importantly, leaves a smooth vinyl, not greasy or too wet and slippery, its just a nice finish on the vinyl.

I would stay away from toothpaste for cleaning the vinyl, as others have said, it's a mild abrasive. The magic eraser can remove stubborn stains from the gelcoat but it's a micro abrasive, so it's like wet sanding the gelcoat, not something you want to do all the time, and it removes any wax or polymer on the hull. I'd use Starbrite Hull cleaner for very stubborn stains on the hull, rinse and repeat if the stains don't come out on the first try.

Having a good layer of wax (polymer) on the gelcoat and protectant (like 303 or Condition Sauce) on the vinyl is more important for preventing stains and making cleaning easier down the road.

I’ll have to give the boat juice a go. I actually like the 2 step process, just because it seemed to work a lot better than 303, but that may be because the 303 is more of a conditioner, than cleaner. If it works just as good, or better, in a single step, I’m a buyer all day. Frequently applying some kind of conditioner to the vinyl is going to be the most important thing we can do, for longevity and future ease of cleaning. I’d rather have a slightly less white seat, than a seat that’s going to fail years early..

I steam clean my vinyl. Works better then any chemical ever will and doesent take hammering on the surface which means it doesent hurt it. I do it once a year, maybe twice and then stay up on protecting it all during the season. Stuff looks brand new 5 years down the road.

Just one of those small, hand held steamers, like for getting wrinkles out of clothes???

Babe's Seat Soap is what it is called, and it works great. I use it, followed by 303 Aerospace Protectant.

Also, in your owners manual under Care And Maintenance, there's a list of cleaning methods to use.

Just to be clear, you used a brush with your other cleaners like you do with toothpaste?

I have tried a lot of different cleaners and they all work 5 times better when you use a brush. It would not surprise me if you used a toothbrush with various cleaners and you would get pretty good results. I have settled on Malco, since it is cheap and works well, but many others worked about the same.

$139 . Free shipping with prime. Man, I am tempted....because when I go on a deep cleaning spree, it is a lot of elbow grease with the brush and cleaner and rags. These sites have ways of spending my money for me.. I wonder if I can tell the wife it is for the house and that I got it because I know how she loves a clean house?

Wait till her birthday, Christmas, mothers day. Two birds, one stone.

My main cleaner is Totally Awesome used with a rag after each outing followed by 303 every couple weeks. My deep cleans are always with a soft bristle brush.

I tried the 25/75 peroxide and water mix. It cleaned well. Probably better than the TA, but not as well as the toothpaste. The peroxide left the same rough feeling after it dried. I won't say its a bad feeling, just different. And it could be that it is removing all cleaners and conditioners leaving just bare vinyl. Looking close at the texture I would say that none has been removed. I then treated both spots with 303 and now they both feel great. Tough call for sure. The toothpaste is definitely a few shades whiter. I might make it part of my spring cleaning. Not something I do each deep clean. It's pretty clear the previous owner did not clean this boat as well as I would have liked him to. I'm hoping once I get caught up and get all the stains out it will be easier to keep looking newish.

I'm also interested in the steam cleaner. I've never used one before, on anything. What's the technique? I'm sure holding one spot too long will do some damage.

                                Never overestimate me.

I am thinking I would just steam on, wipe off with a clean towel. Is that how you do it? I just realized we have a steamer for clothes that shouldn't be ironed, I bet it will work, at least to test the cleaning power of steam.
