I have a Vx and noticed almost no change. There’s definitely less CO but no difference in sound. No difference to the surf wave.
I expected to have a major reduction in running noise but I didn’t. The Vx already routes most of the exhaust under water. Some of the fumes escaped before but now none do.
In retrospect I wish I had spent the money on a surf board.
I have a '14 RZ2 w/VX and just added it the FAE the start of this season and 100% glad I did. We added the big custom bags to our 2 rear compartments a few years ago and started smelling CO2. I think by running both rears full (due to using a suck gate) it really added more fumes but now that the FAE has been added, zero fumes/smell. Noise was reduced slightly at surf speed but for sure far more noticeable with a much quieter ride when boating at higher speeds. Zero change to the surf wave.
We have a RZ4 and just put it on last month. I am kicking my self for not doing it immediately when i got the boat. Much less noise and I cant really smell exhaust at all now when surfing. My kids started surfing alot more this year and thats what made me pull the trigger. Honestly if you surf you should have one is my opinion.
