2006+V/Ve owners HELP - limp mode gremlin

I have been fighting progressive limp mode over the last year or so. I have replaced the pot, done the ecm rewire and still having issues. I also replaced batteries recently to no avail. Typically the limp mode manifested itself with the usual beeping. Turning off key and restarting usually takes care of that for a little while. Lately when I throttle up it manifests itself without a beep but throttle up to about 1500 rpms and then drops. If I feather it enough I can get it to kick in and off we go. Very frustrating because it nearly always happens when pulling someone out of the hole. Some have been able to hold on to the rope being dragged while I feather the throttle until it grabs. Here is another interesting symptom - if I adjust the taps plate while underway, throttle cuts out.

In addition to all this, if the perfect pass circuit is on (not necessarily engaged), the issue with taps dropping the throttle does not happen. I am at wits end with this and out of ideas. I have checked voltage at pot half a dozen times to make sure it’s still in range. Everything tells me I have a voltage issue and points back to pot, but with these other issues I am baffled.

I have never heard back from the customer, so hopefully no news is good news
Cant remember if he was 05 or 06 marine power but both are sensitive to voltage drop. In this boats case did the rewire trick, set the pot back to .95- 1v and still kept having issues. Turns out there was a voltage drop thru the Bussman flip type breaker just past the B+ post at battery box(cant remember of it was a 60a or 80a or what its rating was). There was obviously some internal issues and it was dropping .5-.6v thru it.
I'm in a lot of boats but if I recall the problem with the meager .5v drop is the way the helm vs engine circuits were wired and the ECM sees a difference in voltage and cause the derate. I've been on the phone with MP and the guy I talked to claims a .1v differential can cause the limp mode.
I'd move out and start metering some other places like battery to breaker. Breaker to starter b+ etc looking for a voltage drop of more that .2v.
I could just be spewing wrong info as I haven't seen pr heard from the customer since. Hopefully he comes back for a winterization and I can ask him.

Thanks freeheel. I’ll keep looking to see what I can find. Let me know if you hear/think of anything else on your end. Heading to Powell in a few weeks and hope to have this problem solved by then.

I had same limp mode problem on my 2007 24Ve. When I replaced the house battery the problem
Went away. Some sort of voltage drop kicks off the limp mode. Maybe even replace both batteries

Its the '06 that is very sensitive to the voltage.

Did you calibrate the throttle assembly after you installed the new potentiometer?
          Oh Yeah!

I did calibrate it after new pot, after ecm rewire and after install of new batts.
