When To File An Insurance Claim

With my trailer in for major repairs under insurance, I’ve been thinking about claims/insurance on the actual boat. I have personally never made a marine claim until now. My trailer deductible is only $50, so that’s a no brainer. But what is everyone’s experience with getting repairs done via insurance? Those who have done it, have you seen your premiums rise significantly? At what point do you claim something on insurance?

I claimed a drive on my previous boat, an I/O that I hit a log with. All I had to do was send them pics of the damage and they sent me a check for a new drive. (State Farm)
I don’t remember seeing an increase in my premium for that but it was my first claim with them.
