    Newly acquired 2100V

My buddy (who will be joining this forum shortly) acquired a 2001 2100V on Friday for a steal of a deal. The boat is in unbelievable condition for it's age. Runs great with 600 hrs. There is a slight vibration/shimmy but previous owner says it's been there since new and has had prop and shaft checked. Anyway just by adding water jugs into rear lockers and some peeps on the boat, we managed to come up with a very surfable wave very first time out.

His winter project will be to plumb ballast, pumps, etc. into this 'ole gal. Just wondering if anyone has done this on a 2100v before that could recommend pump/bag combos.

    Thanks!

$16500 Cdn or about $12700 US at today's exchange rate. That included bimini, Tige cover, trailer, a bunch of boat goodies like bumpers and all safety gear.

Dang, thats a great deal for a V-drive with only 600hrs excluding all the goodies. I would have driven to Canada for that deal. lol.

I put a ballast system in my buddy’s 21v two winters ago. It’s very basic and he gets a great wave every time out. I like to say the 21v is nearly infallible. With just a 400lb Vdrive sac in each locker and a sucgate, it’s amazing how well it surfs. I don’t think I ever did a write up on it. Sorry. We came up with a pretty slick setup for mounting the reversible pumps. I’ll try to snag a pic next time we are out.

Get with a Chpthril on here. He owns Mikes Liquid Audio. He his the absolute MAN for ballast systems. I’ve done two through him now and it’s the only way to go.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Two other things. He needs to get rid of that tower and he needs an FAE.

Yep - I have an FAE and he wants to get one. As for the tower - I know they are infamous for cracking but this one doesn't have a single crack yet. Maybe down the road if this one ever fails. Next week we are replacing the old Clarion stereo.

Hasn’t failed yet. Yet. I’ve got 657hr on my boat and I replaced that tower...wow some 12yrs ago. I honestly can’t imagine having that thing on my boat for that much longer than I already did. Sorry. Not dogin’ the boat. I love them things. I hate those towers though. Just don’t want to see anybody get hurt by one. If it was me, I would budget a tower and FAE in before I ever bought one. He got ripping deal if it is as clean as you say. Super ripping deal. My buddy got his for 16 and has dropped nearly 10k into it (new motor, FAE, prop, ballast, stereo, carpet, canvas, little what nots) and it is a bitchin little boat. Given the performance vs. $$$, it’s perfect for that cheap bastard. J/K, kinda. It’s a nice boat. Simple, clean, comfortable, effective. Top of my list for used boats.

I do agree with Nicky budget for a new tower. Replace it before it brakes .You don't want it to brake with a boat full of girl scouts. No one wants to hurt a girl scout. They have cookies.

I got a 2000 2100V and just did the automated ballast system from Chpthrl. Best improvement. Plan on FAE and a new prop and perfect Pass. I can send any pics of my system if he is interested

What kind of weight dId you get from mike? Nice looking clean boat. The black puck on the dash isn't for your perfect pass? Have you figured out your tight steering? Is the tall pole in the back for a barefoot boom?
