Last Saturday came out of Katherines Landing at Lake Mohave and caught the corner on the curb with my rear tire on the triple axle trailer with our Essex boat, cut the tire and it blew. I thought I Made a wide enough turn and did not check the mirror to make sure the trailer cleared the curb. Wife is on the phone to Arizona AAA roadside as I was trying to get out of traffic lane. We have RV plus membership. We find out that Arizona AAA, even though we have RV plus, will not change out flat tire if the boat is on the trailer. They will however change tire on a travel trailer. I also have Good Sam Roadside Assistance and called them and they had no problem. After arrival the person Changed out the tire in about 15 minutes from start to finish. Person doing the work was very courteous, professional and had a positive attitude and checked all my tire pressures. Did not have any paperwork, did not have to sign a thing. Please everyone make sure that if you have AAA membership service that you check with them and make sure they will change out your flat tire on a trailer with the boat on it. Many of you tow some distance and some across the desert and I would hate to see you in this predicament. Apparently issue of not changing tire on trailer with a boat on it is common in many states. Also check with Boat US/Vessel Assist. I believe if you have unlimited service, they will change your tire at no cost.

Nothing wrong with having a road side assistance, but it never hurts to be able to change your own tire. Example: a couple years back at the mead tige event, I headed out to temple bar from vegas first thing friday morning and the wife was coming out in the afternoon with her parents. Just a mile shy of the temple bar turn, their car blew a tire. Since they were in AZ, there road side service was going to have to come out of like flagstaff or some BS, in stead of like boulder city. So like 1.5 hrs wait difference.
By time I made the 25 minute drive from temple to the hi-way, her dad had the tire changed.
When travel to pick up or deliver a boat back, I carry gear to change a tire, just in case.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Changling a tire is about as basic as wrenching on anything gets. Unstucks homebuilt 2x4 ramp trick is gold and isn’t a lot of “stuff” to carry. It can literally be a foot in length. You’re not lifting the whole boat and trailer, only a portion of the total weight. To me it’s basic insurance carrying stuff to change a tire or even bearings, seal and a hub on a long trip. I hate depending on others to fix simple things. I can do it myself in a matter of minutes and don’t have to wait on my roadside savior.
I have AAA as well, havent used them yet. Glad I dont pay for it.

I have changed blown out tires a few times, on the road, myself. I figure I will be back on the road before the truck is even sent.
I carry the towing service in case I have a problem with an axle or bearing. A time when it might need to be towed.
I have one of those jacks that you leverage on the axle and drive to lift it up. It has worked great for me. Doesn't take up much room either.

If you own a boatmate 16 or newer you have 5 years of roadside assistance. This doesent get talked about much but it also includes service to anything the trailer is hooked up too. Lock your keys in the car? call em. Number is on the side and its free for 5 years.Germaine Marine

I have changed my own and used road side assistance. The time I called boatus/vessel assist I could not break the lug nut free. The guy who came had to use a large cheater bar and barely got it. - Moral of story - have both the skills and tools to change yourself and the assistance if you need it.
Also my daughter takes the boat with her friends quite a bit in the summer. I don't wan't her and her friends 17-19 yr old girls messing with changing a tire when they can just make a call.
Boatus is awesome.
