RZX- Pickle Fork Nose (Slightly less deep but still deep overall)

Steering wheel controls are only available with the Tige clear screen, has always been the case and that will continue going forward as well.

I guess I dont get your question. The R line will have trim levels. When you go to buy one new or used you will know based on the features inside of the price point. Their is no difference in price between a loaded R23 this year and what would have been a z3. Same boat same price.

Aside from the increase in being a model year newer you wont notice a difference. You will however be able to pick and choose options instead of being stuck.

Dont like the quilting interior but want the big screen? You can do it now. Want all the quilting but not need the power tower or the big screen? No problem.

Nothing has changed guys except being given an array of options instead of being stuck.......

          2019 discontinued models?

When the ZX came out I was really confused by where the Tige lineup was headed. This move makes a lot more sense. Although I wish there was a pickle fork “budget” option. But that’s about all I have to complain about at this point. I’m also starting to see the differences between the rz and zx lines with the more pictures I look at. Still need to go crawl around a few of these though.

Correction, I meant in the 23+ range. Although I have not been in a R22. Maybe it feels bigger than a 22!

Ah, yeah I get that. Nothing stripped down as far as big boats go......

The boats that feel big are the Rzx2/zx1. To me the Zx1 feels bigger then a z3, not as big as an Rzx3 but bigger then an Rzx2 if that makes sense. Maybe one of those appeals to you brotha.

I just had a 19 R22 for a week and it has always been a favorite of mine, handles the chop well, plenty of space and the new underfloor added a lot of storage that was taken up by the sacs in the previous model years.

That pretty much answers the question. My concern was a fully loaded R23 was going to cost substantially more due mark-up when compared to the equivalent version in the previous model year Z3. I completely agree that giving customers à la carte option choices is a smart move, especially at a competitive price.

Greatly appreciate the info from elevatedconcept!

And what started as the "budget" boat series now starts at $92,000+ for the R23... i was worried that by eliminating the Z line between the RZX and the R series it would just allow for prices to be raised on the "budget" side. Jeebus....the R21 now starts at $84,281. That is almost a $20k hike from 2-2.5 yrs ago. So basically they eliminated the Z series and are now marketing the R series as the budget boat but slowly hiking prices back up to the Z level pricing.....I guess it works for your spreadsheets and bean counters though..... I was planning on upgrading to an R23 in a couple years but realistically with that hitting $100k by then I'll be shopping around much more than I thought...

I really like the idea here that they are running with. I wish they would do that with every boat. I think they should have kept the Z and did away with the R.

Dont get me wrong I think adding more options is never a bad thing but lets call it what it is. The R series is now just replacing the Z series and honestly is no longer the "budget" boat that they originally came out as....

I've ran a few Z3's since 2013 and currently in a 17 I will say after being in the ZX1 and running that boat for a few hours I agree with the above statement. The ZX1 definitely feels bigger then the Z3 and performs awesome I was skeptical at first with how it would compare size wise but I was pleasantly surprised.

I agree, BUT if you look at competitors budget boats they are pretty much the same. An NXT22 with just a couple options and the upgrade up from the 5.7 gets you in the same ball park as an R21. Pretty much the same story with a Helix or a Max from Moomba. Even if you try to not option tower speakers, get the fixed racks instead of swivels, no autowake etc I think you are still looking at mid 60s to low 70s (again not a sales guy but I think its right in there). I think theres no such thing as a budget boat in the tow boat market, just boats that are less than 100k lol

One way they could have kept the Z tradition alive is have an option package called the Z such as upgraded tower, touch screen, and upholstery. Badge it out as Tige R21-Z edition. That would have been a neat marketing idea as well as a way to keep the Z name.
