    Raleigh, NC help please

Anyone in the Raleigh, NC area willing to inspect a 2004 Tige 22V I’m trying to buy and get up here to Ohio for a small fee?!? I have an 8 month old who does not travel well!!

On the other hand... does anyone know of a Tige dealer in Raleigh??

    Thanks in advance.

closest tige dealer is 3 hours west, but they have only been since 2015. Id say that any boat dealer with tow boat knowledge is as good as any. Check with Southtown Waterpsorts. They have a Raleigh store.

I’ve seen that Tige, it has some issues they are currently still trying to work through. The gauges don’t work and some other small things. It’s not in great shape from a cosmetic standpoint either, not bad but needs some love.

          is it that one?

If so its been on craigslist for a hot minute (even though it only says like 26 days). They usually go pretty quickly when priced right.

If I was going to Raleigh anytime soon I would check it out for you.

Good luck with the possible purchase!

            Yep. That’s the one.

I’m not new to boating, but this would be my first boat. Can anyone have any insight to share?! Aside from the above mentioned gauges not working and some cosmetic love needed how does it perform?! I don’t mind if it’s cosmetically not perfect... but more concerned on its performance.

22v is a proven surfer. Great hull shape that performs well when it get lots of weight added to it. Doesnt mention if it has the Marine Power or Merc. I prefer the Merc personally, but not a bad thing if its the Marine Power. Just had some drive by wire issues especially in 05 and 06. TAPS function should be checked as well. If its the Lenco and not working then it may need a module.
Didnt look at if it currently has a ballast system installed but if it doesnt you will most likely end up installing one as well. Considering what others have said I certainly would be looking to have some kind of presale inspection done by a reputable shop. Also since you cant make it out to get the boat on the water I would see if the shop of your choice will do a water test and look for shaft seal or other leaks.
              Good luck!

Thanks for the good info. I’m looking into a shop in the area, who will hopefully help with all of the above advice. Sounds like a good starter boat if there’s nothing major wrong.

I got an update today that they were replacing the idle air control valve and the gauges this week. It had the Merc 350 MPI engine. I did take it for a water test a month ago and it performed fine. Taps system worked when I tested. Whats nice is it doesn't have any ballast so it make installing from scratch much easier. I already had them down to 19K, which is a good deal. Compression was good and all other tests. Just keep in mind it will need a good buff or maybe wetsand to freshen it up and some cushions threads are coming loose. Actually had some nice JL amps and JL subwoofer, and nice bluetooth kenwood receiver. I would update the speakers but the the amps are really the expensive part and those are already there. If I wasn't about to buy a Centurion Enzo 240, I probably would have bought this and refurbished it a little, added ballast and perfect pass, and upgrade the speakers.

For under 23-24K after its all said it done, it could be a really nice wake/wakesurf boat. I think Mike quoted me around $2000 to do the ballast, with enzo sacs (1400lbs) in the rear and bow sac in the front, all on reversible pumps.

Trailer needs a little work on the bunks and fenders, but nothing too bad.

PS, the boat is for sale at Southtown Watersports that Mike mentions above. They are good guys.
