What are you using to get the prop off the shaft?? You will also need some needlenose pliers. Always worth having a new stainless cotter pin as well. Also depending on who put it on before, a chunk of 2x4 to wedge between the prop and the hull so you can get the nylock nut off.
I was going to grab a prop wrench, and a pile of new stainless cotter pins from our nautique dealer or west marine, I have an acme prop puller that just happened to be in a pile of stuff that a guy that we know that used to have a boat gave us, and the 2x4” is a good call, we may end up changing props on the beach this weekend, depending on what this new one does.
By the way, Nettle Props stepped up for me today. I ordered that 15x11” acme prop through them on Monday, and paid for 3rd day shipping to have it by Friday. Acme sent it ground, so it wasn’t going to be here until Monday, they’re shipping me a second prop, next day, so I can have it for the weekend, when I would have been fine for a refund on the money I paid for expedited. Robert, pretty sure the owner, has legit customer service which is hard to find these days. So thank you, to those guys!
Although I can’t claim to be a drag boat aficionado, we built some jets when I was younger, I have buddies with some fairly legit flats, and I had been to the firebird races a couple of times. I’m much more of a hang around than anything!
