We just don't have time with having baby's. We went out this Sunday for the first time this year. Boat is in dry storage at marina. We have a 7 week old and a 3 year old. Boat is just wasting away, & I am tired of paying storage fees for a boat that doesn't get used. The boat would have less than 170 hours, but the week before, and after our son was born the father in law took our boat out instead of hauling his 4 hours. Keep the boat and make a point of using it. I have 3 boys, 6,3,and 11 months. The years one of them was born I was down hours slightly. Otherwise, the next year I was right back up where I usually am. As the one gets older they start coming with me while my wife stays at home with the little one. My wife also is very understanding and knows I'll essentially go crazy if I can't get out on the water. I truly believe your kids shouldn't slow you down. Sure, you have to work around naps and such but you can make it work. Sometimes I go up with friends and my wife will drive separately so she can leave when she needs too. This season we've had a few weekends when we've all been out on the water....good times

Great looking boat. Hang on to it and use it. Nothing beats growing up on the water and bringing kids out on the boat.

I grew up boating. My wife grew up doing nothing. We are just talking to out 10yo last about how lucky she is to be able to go to the lake every weekend. She got up on the surfboard on her own for the first time last weekend and can’t wait for the next lake day. My 3yo is now ripping up the EZski and can’t wait for his next turn behind the boat. Sure, we had a few low hour years when each was born but, now we are out at least once a week and we all ride all day. I’m so proud of their stoke behind the boat. It makes me want to ride even more.

You’ve already got a beautiful boat and the kids will love it in few years. It’s such an awesome family activity. They’re ain’t no way I could even imagine not spending my weekends on the boat with my family. Just saying.

Give it another year or two and your 3 year old will love the water and want nothing but the lake. It’s all about growing up on the water with the family memories that you can’t forget.

Nice looking boat. Agree with others if you can keep it then there's many hours/days of family fun time and memories to be had on it.
The 1st summer our daughter was born was the lowest hour year as well. Pretty sure she was on the boats at a couple months old. The trips started out short and got longer as the summer went on and then into full days after she was 1. We (mainly wife, not gonna lie) would make sure she was in the shade, cooled down or whatever she needed to be comfortable. Now at 11 she can look back and see all the pictures of her through the years on the boats seeing that she has grown up on them.
My wife grew up on boats and got me into it right before getting married. Now, quite some years later, it is our family time every Sunday and many Tuesdays (Tigé Tuesdays that is!! ) that we can get up.

Having a boat, is best family time investment I have ever made!
If you feel like you gotta sell, do what you gotta do. It would be tough to make storage payments every month if you are not making any effort to use it. Easier if you can keep it at home, so totally understand that part. Boats are just getting more expensive....so when you go to buy a new one in few years, my money is that you will find that same boat will likely cost you similar money to what you sold it for since new boats keep getting more outragous....holding up the used market. 2013 will depreciate slower IMO. I have a 2014 that I plan to keep for a while for similar reasons, but I also use mine all the time. Its how I stay sane and blessed to have a wife who understands that and also enjoys getting out. Hell, I was out surfing this afternoon in the rain! Long as there is no lightning, not much that stops me from getting my time in on the surf board.

I think you got to do what Is wright for you. The kids will not be little for ever there are great times to be had in your future......IMO. I would much rather have the kids on the water with me doing water sports. Than me with them on a hot field watching them kick a ball. Not to mention practice.(not fun for you at all) This is all assuming you are a lake person. I mean you bought a boat. The lake puts family bonding on a different level for me. Brothers and sisters playing together. rooting for each other for the first wake to wake, 360, (what ever it is) Just good family fun.
I guess what I am trying to say. Your kids fun shouldn't mean you are watching them have fun. You be having fun too with them.

Thanks for all the input. I agree with everyone in about 2 to 3 years I will probably be putting how many hours i am putting in a season in on the boat in a weekend. Wife and I surf different sides so i was thinking if i sold now put the extra 3k a year I am spending on fees not using the boat into buying one of the new boats that switch side to side much easier.

These shots are 10 yrs old. He was 3 yrs old. Can't imagine my life without a boat for the past decade. Then there are the 11 year old kids who literally cry because the water is so scary.

Anywho, there will always be a reason to not boat. It actually gets harder the older they get

Great times were made on the Missouri River, in our little 19' Champion, for my daughter when she was just 9months old. A bigger boat would seem to be even easier.

I know too many people that have sold their boats (mostly because of a lack of use) and then due to financial conditions of a growing family, sports, increased costs of new/newer boats....never got back into it.

To me there is only one reason to sell a boat.....2 foot-itis !!!!!

I understand you must do what is best for your family, Good Luck...
