I've been busy as hell with BABz. But I've started to hear about these new non adjustable DSP amps on the new Tiges. Does anyone have these yet? This was a post off the Tige facebook group from Tim White of Wetsounds....
"The factory DSP amps are pre tuned from the factory. They cannot be adjusted just like any automotive high end car. You cannot take your Cadillac and “re tune” the BOSE system. This is the way it is on an oem car and the way the marine oem side is moving to. You get a reliable high performance system with less warranty issues. It does make the amps obsolete if you plan to add more and go bigger. Just like automotive oem. This reason why is the same reason why the automotive oem audio systems are done this way. It is for a long lasting high performance system. We are always adding updated tunes and pushing to get more output while maintaining that safe level. The factory systems are very high performing factory marine audio systems. But they are built to be a balance. You can get the most recent tune and re flash to a new oem tune if you would like. Or you can email chad@wetsounds.com or jay@wetsounds.com. Sorry for those that may have been told different from my office. We have a lot of new sales guys and new tech guys that just didn’t know."
This move by wetsounds totally makes sense. But it has me wondering if the enthusiast side of tige owners is going to start ordering boats without audio setups, which used to be an option. Not sure if it is now. I've even heard of some dealers immediately removing these amps for adjustable ones. What are everyone thoughts on this?
