    What’s my boat worth?

Hey everyone. I need a little help and your opinions on what my boat is worth. I’ve owned the boat with my friend for the last 6 years and he recently moved so I am buying his share. I found quite a few listings for similar boats but I know they don’t usually go for asking price so any opinions would be greatly appreciated to get us to a fair value. I don’t have any recent photos of the interior so here are a few older photos and a basic description of features and current condition.

2006 24ve with the 6.0l marine power motor and fae system. It has about 550-600 hours (can’t remember exactly). Black gel coat with some oxidation on the top of the bow as well as some scratches on the top part of gel coat above the gunwale, transom, and walkthrough area. Nothing major but everything shows on this boat! The upholstery has about 1 season left on it with small tears at the stitching on some of the cushions. So all in all it’s in decent condition but what you would expect for a black boat that was used often from 2006. We have aftermarket integrated ballast with two Enzo rear sacs and a v shaped bow sac. Trailer is in good condition (yes it is a triple axle!) and it’s got a teak swim step. Everything else is pretty standard. Let me know your thoughts!

I think there are a fair amount of other things to consider, some that dont need answers here but are worth thinking about....
How much maintenance have you and your partner done?? When's the last steering cable been done?? Has G force fuel pump/filter been regularly serviced? Sounds like you already know the interior is going to need work, what is that worth to you?? That plastic dash piece has a history of cracking and bezels coming off of gauges, any of this happening at all?? It's on triples(crazy!!). Has their been any attention played to the trailer??
These are questions I just ask as a tech, and you have 6 years invested in the boat. If yall have been on all this then to ME it's worth a fair market share or 50% of what an equivalent boat is in the area. If a bunch of the above questions are ??? Then the boat is worth a lot less if I'm the guy taking full ownership as you know you are spending money in the near future.

Pretty sure Boatwakes is in your area. He may know the local market better...

All in all a clean boat for its day and not going to get outgunned as easily as the 5.7l 24' ft boats in these same years. To me not having the 340MP configuration is a selling point as these boats have been proven to excel with weight if surfing is the goal. Bringing the 5.7 to a ballasted 24' boat fight is a disadvantge.

Looking at comps and knowing you need interior 35K is probably top, if like said above you know everything else is up to date.

      Its a good looking boat.

Sometimes leaving a partnership its best to sell to avoid the argument as to value. Obviously you want to buy his half as cheap as possible and protect yourself from costly maintenance and repairs. On the other side he is going to want as much as possible to cash out. If you've had it for a while then an emotional attachment can often cloud value. When people love their stuff (especially boats) they sometimes overvalue them. I ran into this all the time when I was flipping boats. A lot out people out there may have their boats "for sale", but for what they are asking they are never "selling" them.

Yeah he moved out to AZ a few months ago. Good move for him but sad for us of course! Glad to hear you’re doing well out there

Thanks for the suggestions so far! I’m pretty confident we will be able to come up with a fair assessment that will work for both of us. We got really lucky and have been on the same page with just about everything on the boat so far and I think this will go about the same.

I know it would be easier to sell the boat outright but I can’t imagine getting rid of something that has been such a huge part of my life for the last 6 years.
