Boards you have that you don't ride much, and might consider selling......?

Thought this might be a fun thread for those who might have extra sticks laying around, some that collect a little dust, that they might be willing to sell if the right deal came along. It takes a focused effort to put one up for sale deliberately, but what if you just tossed it out there to see if someone might like it? Casually?

Not technically for sale....yet.....but maybe? If something sounds decent, PM the person.

I can start: 4'10" Chaos Racer X. My first custom board--made in 2015-2016 winter I think. Awesome board with some repaired dings but perfectly functional and could live a whole different life for someone. Currently lives hanging in a board bag in my garage. I always say I will ride it, but I never do.

    This is a fantastic idea.

I picked up a 4'10" Soulcraft Blunt Nose Honu that I thought would be my forever board. It is an awesome stick, but still about 30lbs under my weight class. I keep expecting I'll eventually lose those 30lbs but never do. I am still holding out hope, but you never know.

I have a 53” phase 5 AKU with upgraded FCS fins. It is in great shape and just collects dust. It is fun to ride but I started shaping and glassing my own boards.

Anyone sub 150 lbs will rip on it.

It really needs a loving home!

I cleaned out my mail box.

Got in 2015 from Seca in BC. It hasn't seen a lot of use, but it has seen a bit of sun and has a one ding in the nose and some scuffing. I repaired the nose with epoxy but a better job would be a good idea. Down side is I am in Calgary and have no idea how to ship a surf board!

The board is the most responsive thing I have ever surfed, but when I really start working it I bury the nose and the ride is done. That's why it just doesn't work for me.

I'm looking at either a Chaos Ringer XL or a Ronix Powerfish+ or a Ronix Thruster Hexshell.

Ha! Shipping is easy once you have a proper box. I will send you a PM.

Dakota and Jonnie, I'm super interested in both of these boards, but I assume they are both too big for me, at 180-185 pounds. I'm pretty sure my Neo is too big for me and it's 4'8". I'm dying to start getting airs, but can't seem to get this one up. (I KNOW I have nothing to do with getting air. It's ALL the board. )

JohnnieMo: I have the exact same board the exact same size. When I first got it I pearled it a lot and I've seen riders that are much lighter than I (220lbs) pearl it as well. I find it just takes some time to learn how to ride the board to which I now love. We were out on the boat last night and one of my friends was even mentioning how he's seen me just dive the nose under water but somehow recover.

I actually just picked up a used Hyperlite HiFi 56" last night on our way to the lake which now makes board no.6. Haven't ridden a lot of skim before. It's a whole different animal for sure and was a lot of fun.

IMHO: Board size isn’t super closely correlated to being able to air. I would say it’s a preference thing. I have seen many a video of squirrelly little ocean surfers airing the crap out of their 6’ ocean boards when the get behind the boat.

I am not an amazing air artist, but am progressing. I have been riding a 4-8 Chaos Sixer mostly, but then hopped on a 5-0 Chaos Ringer XL and found I was able to air very similarly to when I am on a 4” smaller board. The bigger board afforded more speed coming in, and the end result was air. And the landing was easier with the longer board.

So it’s a weird mixture of speed and board attributes I would guess?

I also have a Phase 5 Trident (60", very wide, skim style) and I couldn't ride it at all for 2 years. Now it is my go to board. I love the thing. I can spin, jump and get crazy speed too. So I really just want more of a surf style to go along side of it. I thought the Soulcraft would be it, but I just haven't had any luck. I do agree that I could grow into it, much as I did the Trident, but it hasn't happened. Just as the thread indicates - it's a good board, and I want to like it, but maybe it's better somewhere else.

I personally think the 4'10" Honu is meant for someone 200 to 230lbs. That is my opinion. Maybe a pro could push that number higher (although not many pros at that size). With that said, everyone in my boat from 115lbs to 300lbs, has a blast riding our 66" Ronix Koal Fish, so I don't think a board can ever be too big for you. It will just become unwieldy for certain tricks.

Anybody want to trade me for my Neo 4'8"? Great shape. Had one dent between the fins that I filled in. Does have a bit of sun fading, so it's not bright white, which is surprising because it spends all of its off time in a bag.

Had a 4-8 Neo once for a spell......who knows where it is these days? Makes me wonder.

Here’s my Racer: could use a new front pad, but I just patched it in 🤣.

It suffered an injury under the patch that I filled.

3 boards sitting in the garage no longer used:

                              - Ronix Carbon Skim (yellow one)
                              - Ronix Carbon Thruster (white one)
                              - Phase 5 Oogle

all are the middle size as I'm 5'10
