    Upgrade '18 r20 ballast

For those who have a great surf wake...We currently have stock ballast of 1600lbs in our 2018 r20. How have you added weight? Have you upgraded the bags? Added lead bags? How much and where did you add weight? I have the 400 Raptor and want to try to get a bigger surf wave.

I have 2015 R20 increased rear port ballast to 1000lbs and also have 520 lbs of lead. 200 in front cooler, 160 rear port, 160 in transom storage as well as diy surf gate starboard. TAPS at 3 and we surf 12.0 and 13.2. Excellent results ... I will post some updated photos soon. Recently watched my gopro sink to the bottom of lake.

I have a 16 R20 I just received 500lbs lead today. I do feel that stock has been great but like most I wanted to see more and plus it's normally me and a buddy and one of my kids so pretty light. My settings have been.

Goofy side both fronts 85% and 100% surf side and 90% offside taps 3 at 5 and taps 2 at 5

Normal side both fronts 85% and 100% surf and 90% offside taps 3 at 4 and taps 2 at 6.

Now that I am adding lead I am guessing I will be adding more front ballast.

Would show you some video from this weekend but camera is at bottom of lake.

As in working on ones specific to the R20?

Yes. Working on an L shaped to upgrade the stock rectangle. Ports should line up with factory plumbing just like we've done with our other custom sacs. Will also convert the barbed fittings to quick connects.

Design is done and into Fly High. Should have a quote in a day or so.

                Upgrade '18 r20 ballast

Sweet this would be just what I would be looking for. A custom bag. That way I don't have to permanently weigh the boat with lead.

Thats why I like water as our primary ballast. yes, it takes up more space then lead (steel), but when we are done, we put the water right back into the lake. Lead has to be carried by the boat, trailer and tow rig.

^^^ except that the 0005/4 fittings do not line up with the 2015 and up surf-xl plumbing.

Mike-glad to hear you are working on upgraded sacs for the 2015. Count me in for a set of L shaped for my 2015 RZR if plug and play and the price is right. Thanks

I have not had tome to calculate the dimensions yet, so going off my gut. I think the stock sac is billed out at 400# sac and its square'ish on shape. Ours is an Enzo style L. I will try to get the capacity calculated tonight.
