This^^^ I get between z1 and rzx2 but this makes no sense. Tige needs to get an order or some sort of pattern to their models.

If money were no object then yeah, why not. Maybe the MNO market is what tige is after? hard to think there's enough of this segment out there, but i have to think they've done their market research, so maybe that's it.
I still feel like i got a he11 of a lot of boat in the R, and does everything I want and need it to.

But this thing just because you slap a "ZX" instead of a "Z" or "RZX" on the side of it doesn't mean it magically jumps $20-30k because of a marketing departments claim of luxury. I'm genuinely asking is there more vinyl (cause in the pics I can't tell the difference in vinyl from an RZX and this thing), thicker foam in the seats? Does it have it's own separate QA line to ensure it's "premium/luxury" care from start to finish? Is the standard motor different? Electronics?
I am just being honest as a consumer that I don't see much of a difference between the R/Z series 21 ft boats and this thing, let alone any difference between the RZX series. So in essence I'm being asked my Tige to pay for a "premium/luxury" line of the brand and get a 21ft boat vs getting a 22 or even a 23 ft boat for darn near the same price.
I could afford this boat but I'm failing to see the point (from a market perspective) of charging so much for a 21 ft boat when I as a buyer can get a 22-23 ft RZX level boat for the same. I guess a FEW peeps could argue the size difference in regards to storage but come on..if I can afford a 6 figure toy, storage traditionally shouldn't be an issue.
Again, just personal perspective and like others have said, I have no doubt Tige had to do market research and determined the R&D/spool up costs were worth it in the end....it's a gorgeous boat and maybe once I get to crawl around in it I'll change my mind but from the few pics/videos I'm having a hard time with it..

Lots of great points. To me its like the R20 vs RZR dilemma. Never understood why someone would want to pay that much more for the same 20' boat with some trim changes and a bigger touch screen yet the RZR did sell. I think there are certain consumers out there that will always just spend on the more expensive version whether its cars, boats, TVs etc. If it costs more it must be better or the best right?? One thing to consider is there a private lakes with size restrictions. This would probably fall under that length on most and that crowd wants to spend big.
Will be interesting to see where it goes. Would love to get out on it.

The ZX1 will feel as big or bigger than a RZX2 and is much deeper. You gain all the bow storage and walk through and under the observers seat is so much deeper than a RZX2.. Obviously everyone’s experience/opinion will very but the ZX1 is such a great boat and the wave is great stock and so much power in the wave.
The ZX1 that we ordered for our shop shipped yesterday and it will be my boat of choice till it sells. ZX5 will have to sit in the showroom

I guess you haven't been keeping up. 4 (RZX 2/3, ZX5/1)new boats in 3 years is pretty darn innovating, or at the least an impressive move to stay current. Go shop MB or Sanger if you want to see a lack of innovation.
Pretty sure if my memory serves me correct it's the exact same number of new boats that SC turned out in the same period (Helix, Max, SR, and SL). Seems Tige is keeping pace.Last edited by freeheel4life; 07-12-2018, 03:20 PM.

whatever camp he is in he will sing the highest praises and that's good for that business. it's what he is being paid to do and glad to see his passion.
he is one of the biggest supporters of the wakesurf community that I have met. does he make money on it? ya. but how many organize an event like the polar bear, invite all brands and ask for riders to post unedited opinions that are published. there are a few of these around the country and as you know from organizing the tige reunion, they take quite a bit of time and commitment and can't imagine he did this for the few $$ he might have made off it.
back ot- I don't follow all the brands but perception is skiers, centurion and tige are the few brands that continue to refine the product offerings with new boats and dabble with new wake technology on a more frequent scale. not that the others are not but it seems that these 3 are announcing new products/boats more often than the others. that can be good and bad as new technology pushes the envelope but it comes at a cost that all new boat owners across that brand are paying for.2012 22ve.. My comment about Ragboy is that lots of us were suprised when he left Tige, but appears to have made a good move for him and his gang.
find it interesting how he was totally in love with everything Tige... until he wasn't.
In reality, we see the same this very day on this very forum. If the time ever comes and there is a change, you will again see the same thing. They will quickly fall out of love and move on to the next best thing.
