How far have you driven on a tank?

I have a 2004 22v. I have a 70 mile round trip planned Wednesday and a typical 2004 fuel sender (it works 25% of the time). I will of course top the tank off before I leave.

Do we know of an optimum speed for fuel efficiency with a factory prop? Any idea if I can make it? Stopping for gas part way will be a bit difficult.

I’d say that as low of RPM you can get with the boat on plane is where you’ll find your best fuel economy with any prop.
You won’t have an issue going 70 miles on a tank, just don’t run your RPMs crazy high.
It’s about 36 miles one way from Bullfrog to the San Juan arm at Lake Powell. I’ve done that round trip several times cruising 28 mph using less than a half tank per round trip.

Thanks for replying... I did my trip yesterday with 2-4’ rollers, unable to go over 20mph on the way there. By the end of the return trip I had burned only about half a tank. I guess I’m too used to surf mileage lol.
