I’ll be making my triumphant return to the water out at Lahontan next week/weekend. If I see you, I might chase you down.
Haha! What are you on? I’ll keep my eyes peeled! Have to roll around on something that turns a head or 2!! I’ve only seen a couple of Tiges out there, one of which was in our camp.
Lahontan is the 4000’ home lake that I’m referring to in a lot of this thread. My buddy is on the grey/Black/white g23 out there, all the time. I’ll probably be out there later on Saturday and Sunday.
They’re a great shop, for sure. Hopefully I can get mine dialed in, so I don’t have to find out what they’ll give me on a trade in!!!

That’s the first I’ve heard of it actually being done, except for the one boat at the factory.. were the customers happy after?? My fear is I get it done, and it doesn’t resolve my problem.. although that doesn’t sound super likely..

Either that or my buddy’s white 21v with black tower and bimini.
We’re usually hanging out in the narrows. We haven’t been out there in awhile, not since that first June weekend. I’ve been out of action for a month now with multiple facial fractures but I’ve been cleared to ride next week.
Lahontan is my second home. My family was hanging out there well before I was born. My kids are fourth generation Lahontan rats.Last edited by NICKYPOO; 07-11-2018, 04:16 AM.You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Our group has a huge camp on 11, the guy in the G23 and another one in a black and grey B52 should be on the lake, right now, and will be out there for the next week and a half. I’m hoping to be out Saturday pm until Sunday night. Work, and a bachelor party in San Diego are causing me to miss this one.
I’ll keep an eye out for you! Shouldn’t be too hard to spot you guys, like you say Tiges are few and far between out here. If we’re riding it’s usually in the narrows or close to the narrows on the dam side.

Yeah they were stoked on the outcome, price? not so sure. . Thats a 11-13K project by the time its done. Does it completely eliminate a power issue? Talk to unstuck, he seems to love his 440 and hes pretty high up. I think its equivalent to about a 60lb Tq increase across the entire power band with the ability to also run a bigger more efficient wheel. You will run a 17/14 roughly and have a ton of juice. Just depends on what you think its worth....Germaine Marine

Unstuck has given me a ton of info, and was the main one, of a few guys that had me thinking that was the fix. Tige is trying to help me track down the v drive, so I guess I’ll see if that happens, then go from there.
Either way, I appreciate the info brotha!! Thank you a bunch!!!

I never got an official quote on the tranny because, at the time, I got the impression no one had sold one yet. I think it was Indmar though that told me the trans would be, “under $5k for sure”. Just a guess, it maybe another $3k for the rest? Is it $3k for labor? No idea.
Don’t forget to sell all of your takeout parts to recoop some cost. Shoot, if I was you I would already have your transmission up for sale on every forum, eBay, and cregslist. Get that sold off first while it’s still in the boat for $3-4K and the project becomes a no brainer. You know there’s a guy at Powell that just hit a rock....

Yeah, for that price, I would be semi-inclined to sell the boat and go a different route. I’m still pretty flabbergasted that a boat with a $150k sticker price, won’t operate with the sort of minimum weight, with a high altitude prop, at 4000’, that completely baffles me.
I can’t see a supercharger costing more than $7k installed. It looks like the parts are about $4k. Unless I’m missing something. That email from indimar to unstuck said the pistons and everything else is the same.. maybe I’m missing something, but how is the trans the “poor mans supercharger”, when the supercharger costs less??
I’m a little frustrated with the whole thing, but maybe I’ll get something worked out...

I thought you would need a new ECM and there was no way to get that in order to supercharge it?

I guess that’s the hang up. But it also sounds like the 2:1 isn’t easily accessed, either. Also sounded like if I know/meet the right person there’s a possibility that my ecm could be flashed for a 575.. whatever route I take, I have some studying, and legwork to figure out, or just sell it, or move.. but it isn’t like this thing is even stellar at sea level, when fully weighted. Maybe I just expect too much out of this thing. Who knows. I don’t think that full ballast, 12 people, sea level, and 12mph is asking anything insane of it.
Sounds like the 2:1 adds about 60 lbs of torque, I’d rather have the 135 lbs, if that’s the case, for a lower cost..

The ECU is the hang up. All the SC parts could cost $1.00, but if you can't get an ECU and you can't tune yours it doesn't matter what it costs. If you buy a new boat you are not paying extra for the transmission, like you would the SC. So nothing more out of pocket, $12k out of pocket for the SC = Poor mans SC.
I think you're getting way ahead of yourself though. Has anyone given you an actual quote yet for the parts and labor? I'd get a few firm quotes first, before you sell your boat.
*EDIT: Where are you getting $4k for the SC parts? Assuming you can get an ecu, none of this adds up. Why in the world would Indmar/Tige sell you everything you need to do a conversion for $4k when they sell you those parts installed in a new boat for $12k?
If you want to make the drive, I'm getting a bunch of guys out on the boat next saturday, "man night" style. You could see if you think it would be worth it.Last edited by UNSTUCK; 07-13-2018, 04:46 PM.

I appreciate the invite bro, and I would totally be there, but we’ve got a harley trip/house on the beach in San Diego, for a bachelor party next week.. keep me in mind for the future, though!! Driving doesn’t bother me a bit, and maybe someone who knows more would be able to spot a problem with my canoe..
My dealer is taking the boat the whole time I’m gone to, hopefully, fix those ballasts, and see if he can find a problem with my boat... maybe there something I’m missing, fingers crossed!!!!
