Upgrade from taps 2 to 3

Currently have a 2015 rz2 with AVX. Thinking of going to taps 3, but using GSA plates. Thoughts? Has anyone made the same Switch? Happy with results?

No first hand experience with RZ2, but GSA absolutely rips when set up properly. Had it on a 2013 MB F24.

GSA rocks! I installed it myself on a 2009 Supra Launch 21 V. Drastically changed the boat. I did the install in about 10 hours. The first side took the longest, between measuring and then getting the courage to drill holes below the water line. Ryan is a great guy and answers his phone when you call. I bought mine through wake makers and he still helped me. Can not say enough about him.

So I guess the main thing would be actuator mounting. I think if you just ditch the AVX but leave the "body/housing" end of the Lenco in its factory location you will not be happy. Talk to Jason (elevatedconcepts). He has been playing around with retroing for a while and if you wanted to switch to GSA I'm sure he knows the answer as far as mounting locations and angles.
I would enjoy your AVX a bit more before I just went and spent on another system unless you are very DIY and want to start drilling holes in your transom to chase dragons.
I would be willing to bet with the right weight in the right places with the right shaper your boat would surf almost the exact same as an RZ4 with TAPS3.

If you really wanted to make changes you could convert to TAPS3 easier than than going to GSA. Again though elevated is the source on that.

I just switched my 2015 RZ4 from AVX to Taps3. Got some stock Tige plates from here. It was much easier than I thought. I wouldn’t hesitate to make the move. One plus to add on is it will increase the value of the boat having the newest Tige surf system.

I don't think GSA sells parts only. I know they didn't when I built my old system. You should be able to reuse your actuators and then update your system for taps 3 so you have control of it, then build/by tabs. I still have some material for tabs if you wanted cheap taps3 plates.

Hello. Just wondering where you purchased the parts for the upgrade? I’m thinking of doing this on a 2015 Z3.

If you already have AVX, it is just the two metal taps 3 plates and some SS screws. I got the plates from a member on here. But I've been told you can buy them from your local tige dealer.

I can get parts only from GSA.
