I Need Help Figuring Out A Current Market Value Of A 1999 2100 Limited I’m Purchasing

I am in the process of purchasing an off market 1999 Tige 2100 Limited V-drive. Here are the specs.

    1999 2100 Limited
    V drive
900 hours on the hull and the factory 5.7L engine
    No damage history
Boat has never seen salt water
Owner completed a new interior. New carpet, new upholstery on all seats and new foam where needed.
Regular maintenance has always been completed.

About 3 months ago, before the owner took it off the market, the asking price was $17,000. I’m trying to figure out if that is an accurate price or not. This will be my first boat and I am not extremely familiar with buying and selling boats and what red flags to look for, but can anyone shed some light based on the specs I provided above if this price is too high, too low, or just right? I appreciate it!

If the drivetrain is in good working order (have it checked) that’s a great price for one with a new interior. I would inspect the bottom of the boat closely to look for any damage. Check for bent fins, bent or dinged prop, bent rudder. Is the bilge clean? A clean bilge is always a good sign. Check the floor for soft spots. Again, if it’s truly been well maintained, it will be solid. How’s the platform look? Another tell tale sign of a well maintained or neglected boat.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Put some pics up to help us out. No salt water is great...

        Welcome to the site!
Price sounds good. Does it have a tower? Perfect Pass?

Nice man. love the clean look. I took mine off too. You have the same tower too I think. Boat is amazing for surfing once you get the right prop and dial the ballast in. Looks like he took care of it too. New seats and carpet is a big plus. I paid 22K for mine but it was used in saltwater. Mine is in decent shape IMO but I make sure I do all the maintenance routinely which is key (basic macheanic skills only). I have had this boat for almost 10 years. Been a solid investment for me! Let us know if you get it and how the first voyage goes. Tons of things to do with that boat to make it your own. Digging the red too.

Oh yeah. Our towers are a POS btw. So inspect it closely. Check the bolts routinely. Especially under the pads.

              cell phone holder.jpg

Oh how technology changes. That little piece was a cell phone holder. The clip on your cell phone slipped over it and it kept it from getting sprayed lol!
              Oh Yeah!

Let me ask y’all this. The trailer in the picture is original and has been sitting outside with the boat on it covered since about April of last year. Help me out here but what all am I going to need to do to get this trailer up to snuff? New bearings? Anyone know what that would cost? Anything else I might need to replace on it since it hasn’t moved in about 14 months?

Bearings should be okay as long as they were properly greased and had no moisture in them. A simple repack never hurts though and would allow you the ability to inspect the condition of the bearings and deciding if they need replaced or not.
Check tire condition. Abnormal wear or checking(sidewall cracks) are causes of concern.

^^^Here is a link to deciphering how old your tires are. I only run Carlisles on my camper now. Had terrible luck with TowMax. Also hear terrible things about Trailer King on the camper forum I follow. You'd be amazed how many trailers have a non functioning brake system as well. Not huge deal if your tow vehicle is a 3/4 ton or larger but otherwise having functioning trailer brakes make a world of difference.

Double check TAPS function on that boat. Look for any fluid on the plate itself. Also check reservoir fluid level. See if the gage registers movement at the dash as well. Replacing actuators right out the gate isn't that cheap and could give you a little bit of a bargaining tool if it's not functioning correctly.

Damn. maybe one day they will be a similar design and I can repurpose it.

Does it have Perfect Pass and is it operational?
