It seems that everybody's boating season is coming to an end, done, or really slowing down. So, what kind of upgrades, mods, or other boating projects does everyone have planned for this winter.
I plan to:
Plumb and wire in my ballast sacs, which will include Rhino-Lining the bow storage.
Add 2 extra bilge pumps - one in front of the fuel tank and one on the port side of the bilge.
GaterGrip the swim platform
Re-prop and move the OEM to a back up.

chp you freaked me out I was reading down through and saw wake havasu and thought what the ?, then I figured it was from last year. I pretty much have the same list. Ballast and FAE I hope to make progress this year.
My dad always said "Stupid Hurts". He's yet to be proven wrong, but for some reason I keep trying.
My season's not at an end, but I've got my stereo all torn apart. I'm moving my tower and sub amp into my dry locker...I should have put it there to begin with. While I'm at it, I'm adding an amp for my 4 boat speakers. I'll probably replace my boat speakers at some point.
I've already replaced my tower speakers with Polks. I had one of my Tantrum's go out again and guys at Monster really stepped up again and sent me Polk Audio replacements for all 4 tower speakers.
I also need to redo my vinyl. It's really starting to come apart at all the wear points. Our riding season about 9 months long, although we do ride in the off-season occasionally. My boat is heavily used. If we're not driving it, we're floating and that's where my seat cushions take the most abuse.
I really want an RZ4...

I'm in the process of making a fiberglass enclosure for the tower that will hold 1- 10" sub and 4- 6.5" speakers. Of course then I move onto the amplifier for that.
Then the extra batteries , the isolater, and a new batt. selector switch.
Just finished the new stereo install. Made a cord holder/guide thingy-ma-jig out of gel coat that was left over...a lot of sanding!! but it looks really good like it came w/ the ipod cord sticking out of my boat. I impressed myself.
Then I found wake board rack parts at diywake.com. The oval backing plate fits perfect on the oval plate already on my tower, so a couple blind nuts, a couple studs on each, 2 holes in my oval piece and a quick release bolt with a big rubber handle and I have a rack that comes off with one bolt so I can fold the tower down to fit in my garage. All for less than 130$ each rack.
I'm done....rewiring my tower, maybe add a proflushional, but that's about it. I would like a water temp gauge, but don't really want to buy one. I am switching over to Schaffer's 40W, switching to a non-metal buckle transom strap, tilting the trailer up to get most of the water out of the cooling system, adding a little Sta-bil and calling it done.
It's funny, yesterday my pop was pulling me, and it took about 3 runs of hand signals to get the speed and shape I liked. I was thinking how great a wakeboard pro would be. I just don't think I am good enough to need a certain MPH though.

Never thought of rhinolining the front storage...that is a seriously good idea.
I think that would eliminate most of any mold problems there. One of my PIA problems is that every time I go out, I need to take out the bag up front and put a fan in there or here comes the cat pee. My buddies can't figure out why I am in the water after a crash pissed at them yelling 'Don't get water in my boat' as they casually dip the front end in the rollers. It sounds kind of funny that I am worried about water in the boat, but it really makes putting her away easier if the front is dry.
What prop are you going with? Don't you have the 537 Acme?

Don't get it because of boarding ability. Do get it to make your life as a boat driver much, much more pleasant. If you plan to do any surfing, it's pretty much required or you will hate being the boat driver. It's much harder to keep a boat at constant speed when you're going slower.
I can't imagine not having PerfectPass. Mine went out only a month after I got it and I was surprised how quickly I had gotten used to it.

That is the exact reason I'm going to do this. I haven't had the mold and smell yet, but I know it would only take 3-4 days if I dont pull the bow sac after every trip out. It has gotten old this Summer.
It may be an Acme, never looked close enough to tell. Just know it's the original from the factory. No real complaints with it, but a slight loss of holeshot when I'm sac'd out and have a boat load of peeps.

You know, how cool would it be if the bow storage was rhino-lined, had a drain on each side and a lip to prevent water from running into the storage underneath the dash and by the observer's seat?
At least offer it as an option. Hmmm.
