Hydro-turf flooring?

Has anyone used Hydro-Turf for flooring instead of the other options out there?
Our boat is is almost 20 years old and the carpet is starting to show wear. We are hoping to only have this boat for another year and upgrade. I love Hydro-Turf on my Jet Ski's and we put it on the swim deck after the P.O. put a sticker on it. I don't want to dump a bunch of money into it and the Hydro-turf would't bother me any. Think it would get a negative result at resale?

Im guessing they may be the same Chinese manufacturer for a lot of those big names minus the fancy router work for Emblems, etc...
I paid $350 for 5 big pieces 79” x 35” or something like that shipped to my door. Enough to do your whole boat and swim deck easily. The have a ton of colors and designs and are great to work with. It took three weeks to get my order.

Thanks Jetdriver, that was the same site that got me thinking about it. I think ordering 3 of the big sheets from Blowsion might be cheaper. It should cover it. I did the swim deck with a sheet from them and had left over pieces.

Not sure about cost difference but you could always consider miners moss/decakadence/extrudued vinyl as well. Then you wouldn't have to get the old carpet up and out of there. Plus it feels awesome on your feet.

I will look into that, I have not heard of anything where you don't have to pull the old carpet first. The hydro turf sheets are $55 or so each. That and glue I bet would be in the $200 ball park for the whole set up.

Its super soft and you can remove it to dry it and clean it. I have a deckadance mat here in the shop but its not for sale If you wanted to come by and check it out though and see how it feels, can gladly roll it out for you.

I put HydroTurf n my Champion before we moved into the z3. Removing the carpet and residue wasn't as bad as I thought. I used a drill and a paint removing disc. The install is very easy, I used the 3m peel and stick pressure backing...however once it is down...it is down!!!

I like the easy clean up and it does feel good on the feet. We got the light gray and it was not overly hot to sit on. My only complaint was that with some water on the turf it was slippery if you moved too quick...

I bet the light gray is still better than the hot black carpet too. Did you have any access holes to cover?

When I emailed Malors the 5 sheets were like $ 360 US then they wanted $ 305 US to ship it. Needless to say I didn't do it because I thought that was ridiculous.

I had 6 different hatches. I made paper templates. I was able to wrap the HydroTurf and used clamps to go over and around the hatches. On the flat deck areas I cut the turf at about a 45* angle and just left an outline of the white underneath...turned out good. Cuts very easily with a utility knife blade.

Deckadence is awesome but really expensive. I wanna do my floor in that type of coil mat this winter. I’m over the stinky when wet carpet. I’ll post a link when I find an affordable source.

If you Google "spaghetti loop vinyl mat" "extruded vinyl mat" "miners moss" you will find lots of different sources and colors. I've also found some looking for entry mats, pool/spa flooring and industrial fatigue flooring mat.
I think the key is finding larger pieces for the lowest price. I have also found where guys have seamed pieces with over lapping 45s and an all purpose cement/glue. Then at the end you glue some of that tool drawer liner stuff on the bottom to keep it from slipping. Others have added snaps to keep it from moving around.

Everything I find is in China and you have to order a $hit ton to buy it. Either that or you can’t find a piece that’s big enough to cut to size. Seems they only produce it in 6’ wide portions which would be plenty if you could get a 10’ length or so. I tried a couple eBay retailers that sell it custom fit for vehicles without any success. They all say they can’t get that big a piece. Gonna try a Mexican source next with my Cuban connection who speaks the language better than I.
