    Rzx high altitude prop

Hey all. We’ve got a ‘16 RZX with the 440, where we live we can hit lakes from like sea level to Tahoe, at about 6200’ within an hour and a half, or so. We run pretty good at sea level but struggle, especially with some weight, out of the hole, on Tahoe, and anywhere above 3000’-4000’..

Anyone have thoughts on a great all around prop for performance?? I’m trying to not jack up our surf and wakeboard wake, and I could swap the prop out depending on the altitude we’ll be at various weekends..

    Thanks ahead for any help!

Regretting not having the 575, at this point!!

15x11 may work at close to 6,200' for a surf/weighted boat prop. Not really going to be a good all around prop with the 440 at 4000'. Hopefully others will chime in but typically at those heights people run the 575.
    Oh Yeah!

I’ve got a 15x12 at sea level and it’s alright.. but not great.

Not trying to hijack your thread but is it possible for you guys at high elevation to swap to the 2:1 tranny?

I appreciate the response!! I may have to have a Tahoe prop, and just use that there.. we only use that lake for about 5-6 weeks, so it wouldn’t be too bad of a deal to swap it.. the 575 is the one option I don’t have, and would like to, but got a smokin deal on this boat, that was hard to justify passing on.

I would actually almost consider doing a motor swap, if I could get something for my used 440.. that wouldn’t be this year, either way..

Takes 2:1 trans, prop shaft goes to 1.25", new strut, change in engine alignment, and new props for the new shaft size. It could be done, just not very inexpensive.
            Oh Yeah!

This was my thought as well. I was looking pretty hard at doing this swap to an RZX2 I was considering purchasing. All the parts were pretty easy to come by, but the transmission. No one seemed to want to sell me one. I guess because they are so new there hasn't been a system set up for just selling them. Tige referred me to dealers. Dealers referred me to Indmar and Indmar said Tige.
It's only a matter of time before they have to figure out how to sell them as there will be non warranty repairs.

Everyone I talked to cautioned me about getting a non supercharged 3, but with the 2:1 it seems to be working perfect at my normal lake at 4200'. I'm taking it to the mountains next weekend at about 6200' so we'll see what it does there. I'm sure it wont perform as well, but this also wont be a heavy ballast run either so I'm sure it will be fine. I have the 17 x 14 prop.

Looks like acme recommends a 15” x 12”prop.. I may pick one up and see what it does.. for $560, it isn’t the end of the world, and would definitely be worth it to hit plane easier.. there is also a Tige dealer at Tahoe City, I’m going to hit them up to see if they have a thought, for that altitude..
