FAE... who sells them and has them in stock???

Looking to do an FAE on my boat. Talked to FAE themselves but it's a few weeks out with them unfortunately. Too bad cause they were super great to talk with but I want one now.
I've also talked to a Canadian FAE distributor "Inland Watersports" and once I finally got through to him he told me 5-6 weeks (FYI... I will never call this place again, for ANYTHING. Horrible customer service and HIGH prices IMHO).

So the question is, does anyone know where I can get one of these things NOW? Or as an alternative, are there any other quality manufacturers I don't know about? My boat is a 2011 RZ4 if you're curious.

    Cheers,
    RJ

I pretty sure everyone buys them straight from FAE. Your above distributor is just doing the same thing and tacking on some mark up to make it worth their while. You could check with Seca Marine but again, they are doing the same thing....entering an order on the same list you can put yourself on.

I've purchased my current FAE and previous for my old boat directly from Larry at FAE.

Honestly, unless the FAE retailer was also a boat manufacture's franchise dealer and handled only one in-board brand, a product like the FAE is not one I would stock. WAY TOO MANY options to put in stock.

3-4 weeks at the factory, add a couple more to get it shipped to CAD, and theres your numbers.

Nope, FAE is the only one that makes the FAE. Only a few home grown versions.

Is your RZ4 the single or duel exhaust? Mine is currently off my boat with no immediate plans to put it back on. I might consider selling it to you. Shoot me a PM.

I’m pretty sure seca is a dealer for FAE. If not order direct, shipping was a good 80 bucks plus a bunch of duty, so take that into consideration when getting a price.

Yes but 33% above retail is where he was at. SECA was one of my first calls but they don't have any either.

Yeah well, it never hurts to ask.

Yes I will order direct if I have to as I was quite happy with the customer service with FAE so far, but they don't stock them and the whole reason for my thread is to find out if there are any dealers that stock them or maybe other manufacturers as I'm unaware of any and thought I'd see if anyone else knew of some. If you paid duties you got ripped off (probably by UPS) as the product is MADE IN USA and is not subject to ANY duties at the border, just taxes.

I ordered direct from FAE this spring as part of the group buy. Note that you will get a custom's clearance fee of about $100 CAD above everything else you pay at the time of order. So plan for that gem. My final cost was around $800 CAD.

They don't call this duty, as it is a Made in USA item, but they collect the taxes, and then charge you a fee for the service of remitting those taxes.

You got ripped off. UPS by any chance? I won't, and don't, ever pay fees like that, they're a total money grab. Request USPS delivery next time you shop over the border, you'll be much happier. As for me, I'll probably pick it up over the border and pay taxes and nothing else at Canda Customs 'cause that's all is required to pay.

Inland Watersports was gonna charge $800cad, plus shipping, plus taxes. So even with your $100 charge you were way cheaper buying the way you did.

Yes, but I got in on a group buy. That gave me a discount. Is your boat the single exhaust EX343 also? If so, we have the exact same unit.

I still haven't tested it out, but I am excited for the change.

I didn’t end up ordering the FAE as I bought a Tige version with the new boat. But whenever I order stuff it’s crazy. The worst was the ballast stuff it was like 150.. ups is awful. I’ll definitely spend the extra couple bucks and go through usps.

Yes I run the EX343 as well. Great motor.
