Surf Rack Options/Placement??? - Phat Budde Tower

My new board does not fit in the built in racks (my old compression molded CWB board did and I wasn't worried about it getting damaged). I am looking to try and mount a board rack to my tower to that the board can get out of the walkway and off of the floor. Has anyone had any experience mounting a surf rack on this tower? The built in racks really limit mounting options and I have a halo style bimini that limits me even more! I have looked into the finger style racks with bungie cords on DIY Wake and other sites but was told these racks can damage the boards. This could be mounted on the side by the windshield I think.

I also found this Reborn surf rack and I am curious if anyone has tried it? http://www.reborntower.com/wakeboard-rack/154. It looks like it would be more secure.

I even looked at an overhead style rack mounts on top of the tower. A Wakeworld member makes and sells these and they are very nice but I am worried it will get in the way of the rope going back and forth when wakeboarding because I would have to mount to a forward/aft bar rather than a parallel bar.

Any ideas on rack styles and where to mount? Here is a couple of photos of my tower. Any input would be appreciated.

Also, does anyone know the tube thickness? I think 3 inch?

The Corson Piper racks you mentioned are the bomb and wont damage your boards, you could also mount on the side of tower if you think it may interfere with tow rope.... (I went under tower since mine tower is taller and I am not

I also have a Piper rack but I mounted it sideways for the reason you mentioned. I stack 2-3 boards on it all the time. I replaced the bungees with Dakine surf straps. Not the best pic of it but you get the idea.
The tower mounts can be turned any which way you like so if you wanted to have 2 you could mount them at an angle on your tower with the rear further out than the fronts so the rope wouldn’t hit the surf boards.

Thank you guys for the input! I didn't even think about mounting from side to side in front of the tow point like you did in the second picture. This looks like it would solve my problem.

JetDriver - I noticed your tower went from black to orange in the photos? Is this something you painted yourself? I would love to paint my tower as it is a faded grey and original from 2005.

I removed the tower, stripped the orange powder coat and had it powder coated black.
Here’s a link to a write up I did on it.
