    Oh, well, La Te Da. Us non-welding peasants with our Sucgates.

    J/K

    I planned on doing slappers over the winter but I spent that money on injectors.
    You'll get your chance, smart guy.

      Lol... I do have this picture. Totally different design but it works like a hot dam on a Z3. Mounted on the back like a wing with highest point at the rear. 8FF77FBD-2849-4E40-AFC8-DAE6C7136EF0.jpg

        I had to stare at this for a couple mins to try to figure out what it does (maybe I am not bright enough). So this ^^ works like a slapper by sticking to back, side of boat and the water force "pulls" down the side of boat VS a slapper lifting one end so the other sinks down to create the list? If that is the case, do you also run it on the surf side since it pulls down, rather than pushing up? (say that cause you said highest point at rear), which I guess would also mean you would need another one build for the opposite side since it would not flip correctly
        Very innovative, would not have even thot of that as I would think the amount of force put on it up/down would tear the suction cups off. I know there is also a lot of force on suckgate, but its also pressing it against the boat (at least with my Nauticurl). I would love to see this thing in action!

          Lol when I saw it for the first time I was like what the heck too.... it actually goes on the opposite side just like the surf gate. We initially tried it like you had said on the surf side and was confused as to why we had a goofy wave. Makes no sense, I really don’t understand either. But it sure works great on the Z3, we tried over 6 different designs and the favourite was one just like in the picture but with a little curve to it instead of being such a straight edge. When driving the boat handles much nicer than the traditional suc gates, mainly because it’s more of a wing. Maybe it’s just a Z3 thing, I don’t know..

              @bsreid-

              WTF is that thing? It’s pretty wild looking. If you find a better pic, post it. Do you know the ~dimensions of the plate?

              ...and now for something completely different.

                It’s probably just over 6” outwards give or take. It’s one of those things you must see to believe. The traditional style we’ve got is like yours but just welds right onto the handle.

                  Post a pic of it mounted on the boat where you run it. I am having a hard time visualizing this. I never thought about experimenting with different style suck gates. I think a amazon order for a few more suction cups is on its way now!

                          My buddy had the plate made. He’s got a friend with a metal fab shop. It had a cutting board on it but I took it off. The thing is way too big and way to heavy but, just as a shape it’s ready to test. I’m headed to Shasta for the week so I’ll be doing some testing with it.

                            Parellel with the water mounted in the same position as the traditional style. The one pictured is for the regular surf side, therefor mounted on the goofy side.

                                So, I’m out of the sucgate game. I got frustrated with it the other day and took it off and holy Jesus, my wake without it is awesome! I’m not sure how I got, wait for it...sucked into this whole fad but, I did.
