    FAE question and surf flap

Sorry if there is a thread for the surf flap, I looked but could not find what I was looking for.

Anyone have pictures and material / attachment info for a surf flap. We installed our FAE over winter and the spray is annoying. We also cut the swim platform down and that helped the wave a lot. I think with a flap we could get an even smoother wave as well. The regular wave is great, but the goofy wave is a little choppy still.

Is it normal to get some of the exhaust smell still when turning around in your wave to pick up a rider? I noticed a decent decrees in odor while underway and when stopped for the most part, but it is not gone like I thought it would be. But when stopping and spinning around to pick up a rider the odor is very noticeable. I thought at 80 or so feet that its supposed to push it back under the rider we wouldn't have this issue.

    Thanks for any info.

The exhaust fumes will eventually float to the surface and be release back into the air. If you are turning around and heading back in your original path, you may be smelling what has surfaced.

I believe Duffy was using 3/4” horse stall matting for his surf flap.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

One of my custom custom taps plates would help a ton .

Did he just mount it to a hinge and the swim deck Nickypoo?

What does the plate do for it 18c? we run taps at 1 usually.

Basically you want super dense rubber mat. Horse stall mat is the cheapest/ easiest to find. Then you want to mount it vertical. Does that make sense? Basically the stiff/ density pushes against the wave and "cleans it"

Cleans it up, better push in the pocket, smoother transitions.
