Mercruiser Mag MPI Alternator

Just wanted to let everyone know about a nice cheap replacement alternator for the Merc Mag MPI 350. My boat is a 2001 2100V. $70 shipped and it seems to be good quality. I had a DB Electrical alternator in my old Mastercraft and had zero issues. We'll see how this one works out. I just installed and tested in the driveway and it's working great so far. The old alternator wasn't charging at idle and the bearings were going out probably due to water dripping on it from the sun pad.

The part number on the old alternator was 862031.

Yeah..for the vintage boats, it's a good idea to just have a spare one ready. Super easy to replace and gets you back on the water pretty quick.
