Tige Touch 2 not coming on after disconnecting battery on 2015 Z3

Changed my port actuator today. Had to disconnect the left battery and move it out, which I believe is the house, to fish the cable through. Red switch was in "off" position.

Bone head move: I accidentally bridged the positive and negative terminals with a wrench and had nice sparks and a charge with The thick black cable still connected (the one I was using the wrench to disconnect). Faak!

Got everything installed and reconnected the battery. Turned red switch on and the blue light came on beside Tige Touch II, even without me pushing the button in. Never noticed it did this before, but may be normal. My Tige Touch 2 screen is now black and doesn't come on, so I have no idea what is going on. Been searching online and can't find anything.

Is there some way to re-set it? Could I have blown a fuse? Did I kill the battery? Pls God tell me I didn’t fry the touch 2!

Note: the boat had not been started. It was on the rack at the marina and i didn’t test multiple positions on the battery switch; as A thunderstorm was rolling in. Heading back to boat tomorrow.

Any help is much appreciated. I'm dying to surf tomorrow and check out the new actuator.

    Thanks

My guess...you blew a fuse and/or popped a breaker. There are breakers under observers seat....under the helm which you have to lay on your back to see since they are mounted above/behind steering wheel....my boat also has some mounted on drivers kick panel and a fuse box mounted to back of rear seats near engine. Guessing its likely that it would be a fuse or breaker either under observers seat or somewhere near drivers helm, especially if the TT2 is not working.
Also, double check all your battery wires and make sure you did not miss anything when re-connecting.

Normally the blue button is only on with button pushed in. There is an 80A breaker up above the batteries that hopefully is open. I would double check and make sure everything got reconnected correctly. I have seen a ground put on a POS post that didn't cause sparks or breakers to blow, but instead voltage to crazy stuff like, honk the horn and stereo comes on kinda of crazy.

Turns out I had the red wires out of order. That is, the wire with the Buss fuse should be on bottom for tige touch to work. Had no idea something this simple would make a difference. I looked back at the picture I took of the terminals before I removed the battery.

Tige touch working great and new actuator is making the wake clean again!

        Thanks guys for your help.

Glad you are up and running. Personally dislike the "take a picture" method. It did save you though. I remove leads one post at a time and zip tie all those leads together. Then onto the next post and zip tie all those leads together. That way it's next to impossible to mix anything up when putting batteries back in. Just my personal preference though.

^^This zip tie method is exactly what I do as well

If the system did not work when hooked to the top terminal, you probably have a blown terminal fuse. You now have the wire in the correct location but it should have worked in either location unless the terminal fuse is blown. If that fuse is blown, the house battery will not charge from the alternator.

Thanks. I'll not be able to check until the weekend. Prob can't hurt to go ahead and get one. Any idea what Buss terminal fuse it is?

Should be this one: https://www.amazon.com/Blue-Sea-Syst...nal+fuse+block This what it looks like at the battery post:

I am going off memory here but I think you need the 100 amp rated fuse.
