    ASR stereo issue

My buddy I helped install his 4 rev 10s with was out at the lake last weekend and all both in boats and towers all sound like the bass is getting pushed too hard or gains are too high but I have them all turned down and tried messing with some of the setting and nothing is fixing it.

Any ideas where to start? Chpthrl I used the same cheaper y splitters so maybe we need to order more of the same ones you got me which fixed my problem but this doesn't seem to be the same problem. He's got an older eq. Orginal 420. All wet wire.

What year ASR, 2015-2016 with the Polk or 2017 and up with ICE?

Does it happen in all mode, even AUX direct into the 420?

All full-range speaker chnls set to hi-pass, right?

Other then the 4 rev-10, what has been installed prior to this sound issue?

It's a 2014. Has all wet sounds. I'm trying to remember what you talked me into for the amps.....I know sd2 for the 4 rev10s. Then 2 10 inch wet sound subs going to an sd4 and then all 6 808s going off an sd6. I double checked while I was working on it and it is set to high pass for the rev10s I didn't get time to check the sd6 out. Subs sound really good.

As far as the input for music goes. We did have the wet sounds a link running. But I'm pretty sure we ran just his iPhone off his adapter since it doesn't have the aux input and then the aux cord to the a link and then I think straight to the 420....but can double check that.

Speakers and amps, yes, but I knew that. Interested in what head unit, we are dealing with. A 2014 could be Clarion or Polk, cant remember on a 2014 ASR, but a 2015 and 2016 had Polk.

Ok, thats what I would speculate for a 2014. So no sub output on a clarion, they are all full-range.

Id check to make sure that the "bass" setting is not jacked up and conversely, the treble is not all the retarded. Make sure "loud" is off and any other EQ settings are off. Make sure the WS-420 dials are all at the 12 oclock position.

Next, get a couple male to male RCA adapters and bypass the EQ and see what the in-boats and tower sound like then.

Perfect. I'll look into all that! Thanks again chpthrl. I'll get in touch and order more of those y adapters for him from you when I get back from vacay.

Is this the same for an 09 rz4? I think i have the same amps... and know they were wrong when i got them... i have tinkered some to get it better but not sure if it is perfect...

Yes, 09 still used the same Syn amps and speakers. The one difference could be the woofer. Somewhere in there, wet sounds moved from a dual 4 ohm woofer to a single 4. This changes how the woofer can be wired to the amp's 5&6 chnls, thus changes the tuning a little.

The next change would be the 17 models when they moved to the new Syn-DXDSP amps as well as the ASR in 2014 that could come with the SD amps.

Is there a reason that the SYN6 does not have the standard lo-hi-full switch on the speaker outputs? It has the button for low and high pass for channels 5 and 6 at the upper right, but it just seems a little weird.
                        Be excellent to one another.

                          Good question TTG,

I think Wet sounds designed that amp with the intent of never driving a woofer on chnls 1/2 or 3/4, so no need for low-pass. No need for full-pass since hi-pass is the best way to go anyway. Chnl 5/6 was intended to drive a woofer or full range speakers, so it has the low/hi pass selection, Again, no need for full-pass.
