Currently I own a 1968 Fiberform, but want to make a drastic change. I am trying to decide what boat would work best for my family. Right now I have my eye on a 24ve. Is this the best boat on the market for skiing, wakeboarding and tubing? If so Why? Are there any Tige dealers in the Pacific Northwest?

Why Tige?

We bought our 06 22Ve in March. We looked at a lot of boats @ the Feb. boat show and the Tige had alot of features that we were looking for. We love the ride, storage, and overall performance. We can go from wakeboarding to skiing to surfing just by adjusting the TAPS. (no ballast yet). You can cruise all day and come off the water not feeling beat up.
After looking at all the compatition, the Tige was the first, last, and only one we put in the water. that's all it took for us.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Moser:
The first thing you need to consider is if you want to move into inboard boats, or upgrade into a newer I/o.
There are major differences between the two classes. Especially in the area watersports safety. Inboards will always be safer because of the prop location.
Then you need to decide what it is you want out of the boat. Is it going to be used to ski behind, or a party spot, or tube, or Wakeboard, or just general crusing etc.
Then ask yourself:
Where will it be used? Big waters or sheltered waters, the ocean?
Do I want one dicipline over the others ie wakeboarding/surfing over sking?
How many people are going to be with me?
Do I want ballast?
Do I want to be able to shape the wake?
Do I want the boat to be "over built"?
Then finally... Just test ride/drive boat from the major manufacturers and see what appeals to you.
For me, I needed a boat that would throw a nice slalom wake, a great boarding wake, a great surfing wake, and be able to handle rough water. I wanted it to be overbuilt and safety was a primary concern for me (two young kids). So things like high freeboard, and no porposing were very important to me.
I chose Tige, I can't say it is the best boat for you, but it was for me.
Good Luck

you have got to get in the water w/all the boats you are considering....take your family and all the junk you would normally take w/you on the water....this will help you in the end...it makes you more aware of space and storage...I agree the freeboard was a big concern of mine w/kids also...I think you will find tige one of the deepest.
Good luck in you boat hunting and make sure you drive and ride behind them all.

Moser,
There is a Tige' dealer near Seattle (Auburn) & also one down in OR (Salem). The reason I bought a Tige' was that it is a versatile boat, you can ski, wakeboard & tube etc with the same boat & have great wakes to do either. In fact we did all three last night. The 24V is one nice boat, I don't know how the ski wake is on it but give it a try. As others have said try as many boats as you can. When you are making this kind of $$$ investment you need to be sure about the purchase.

Moser,
We 2nd what Taquilasun wrote.
We have had (don't laugh) a 1975 Cobalt 18' tri-hull, 302, Mercruiser sterndrive for the last 6 years and taught our 3 kids (10, 11 & 13) to double-ski, kneeboard, slalom and wakeboard. We do a lot of tubing after the wind kicks up. Our kids skills have outgrown our boat so it was time to upgrade. We're picking up our 2000 21V on Saturday. After months of research and riding in friends boats we settled in on the 21V.
Everything Taquilasun said is exactly where we are at.
Good luck and have fun looking! These are our toys after all. If you've ever been in ToysRUs with your kids, you know the feeling.

I will add there is a dealer in Hayden, Idaho too. I'm not sure what part of Washington your in? I Live in Spokane. We purchased a 24v from him last year. And I know of one person that just purchased a 24ve from him. We both boat on Lake Roosevelt out of Seven Bays. The dealers name is Kent Carson, Tige Boats Inland N.W.

Thanks for the dealer information. I am located in Yakima. We primarly boat on the Columbia River near Vantage. One of my concerns is that I want a boat that can handle ruff water when the wind comes up. I dont want to end my day just because of a little breeze. I have noticed that when the wind comes up I realize that some nice Mastercraft, Supra and Malibu boats are headed in. Any additional facts/opinions would be nice.

I am in Florida and regularly boat on the Intercoastal Waterway, Tampa Bay, and The Gulf and wind blows up swells like crazy. I have been out in some pretty good swells in my 22v and love the fact that I can trim the TAPS up towards wakeboard mode and then bring the speed back a little and we get a nice smooth dry ride. Not so easy to do on a MC, Bu, or CC. The convex v hull seems to handle the rough conditions without slamming as well.

Moser,
One of the main reasons we bought a Tige was because of the rough water handling. It can get pretty rough on Lake Roosevelt and we don't even think of calling it a day. We usually just break out the wakesurfer(which the Tige's are great at). Our 24v cuts thru the chop better then any other boat we have had. I know this last summer I was out on a rough day and realized I was drive along at over 30 mph which is probably at least 15mph faster then I would have with our old moomba. I was truly amazed with the rough water handling.
