We've had our new 22Ve for about a month now and finally got a chance to plug in the ipod. I assumed it went into the Aux input located on the dash (especially since the boat came with a mini plug that fits right in there). So I plugged it in and got ready to jam........nothing. Hmmm, what is the problem.....unplug and plug it in again...different setting on the receiver...still nothing. So, today I go out there to try and figure it out. I get down and look behind the Aux input and guess what. Its not connected to anything. There is a wire that splits into two RCA jacks that are just dangling there. I got the upgraded stereo with the kicker amp from Tige. Isn't the Aux input supposed to be connected to the system. Or is it just there to look cool?!

Now maybe this is different for the 07's but the Ipod connection was an additional upgrade... On top of the upgraded stereo in the past. Just plug in your RCA inputs into the back of the head unit.Being a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... I am perpetually vexed w/ the conundrum of who to hate more. Obama or the Univ. of Saxet.

Guinness, we have an 06 Ve, and use a 'Y' connector that pligs into to two RCA's that were taped up to the main harness. I will take a couple of pics in the morning for you.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Guiness, we have an 06 Ve as well - no Aux input on the dash from the factory with my boat. I don't know if this was the smartest way, but paid dealer to pay "Stereo guy" to run wire (with RCA connectors) from Clarion Head unit Aux RCAs to a place under dashboard. $70. I can now connect the Ipod to the port with a belkin adapter cord ($20). It works very well.

We use a" icarplay wireless plus" made by monster. set up to three radio station on the unit and then tune your radio to that station that comes in best and it plays the ipod you can plug into cig lighter in glove box or on dash by drive (we use in the car as well) it works very good. I wish that I could say same for stero in boat. OK system just wired by Tige wrong. We bought two more tower speakers and took to local shop to hook up they rewired so the tower speakers (4) was back speakers and all boat speakers(6) were on front that way you are not deaf if they want it crank it up out in the water. Hope this helps.

As long as it is the cmd4 head unit, then there needs to be an rca cable that plugs into the aux inputs that should be cable tied up under the glove box. If you have the two amp setup, then they will be the only remaining not used female rca connectors that go to the back of the head unit. The rca cable will need to go from the head unit up around the bow and to the aux rca's that you said are dangling. It would be worth checking first if the rca cable didn't just get disconnected and is sitting under the driver's dash.

stereo probs
Everyone, thanks for the replies. I did find the dangling rca jacks on both sides (both coming out of the Clarion unit and hanging from the input connector on the starboard side under the dash. So, the only thing that is missing is a patch cable to go from the Clarion unit up and around the bow and back under the dash to the two rca jacks hanging off the back end of the aux in connector. I hate to take the boat out of the boat house and to the dealer just for this, but isn't this something that was supposed to be connected? I mean, why have a aux in input on the dash if you aren't going to connect it to the receiver on the other side? Net result is I will probably incur the cost of the cable and do it myself. It is kind of funny though, trying to figure out why the ipod isn't working when you're out on the water. And later you find out that you were just plugging your ipod into thin air.

I'd give your dealer a call and hit them up for a nice Monster cable, or see if they will reimburse you for it. A 16' RCA Monster cable can be around $40-50. Also make sure you use some cable ties to keep it up high with the existing wires that are there, don't want it to get caught on anything and ripped out of either end.

I ran my cables straight across by going down through the air vent, across under the floor, and up through the hole the steering cable goes into. 8 feet was enough for that.Be excellent to one another.

Yes, I got it through the Boat Tree at the Boat Show. We live on the Clermont chain, so come on up if you want to cruise the lakes sometime. I'm calling the dealer this afternoon to tell them to do it for me. Maybe I can get a free wash and wax out of it for all of my pain and suffering due to the lack of tunes. lol
