2006 24 VE alarm at first trip

bought a new boat this winter and put it in for a test run on Saturday. Boat ran great other than an alarm from the left dash meter that sounded off every 5 seconds or so. The small digital display that reads the the depth was flashing the entire time even though I was in 30+ feet of water.

All the gauges seemed normal as far as temp, voltage, etc.

I tried messing with the up/down buttons and the Mode button but couldn't clear anything or make the beeping stop.

Any ideas? I can run it over to the dealership I bought it at but wanted to see what you guys thought.

Also, TAPS doesn't seem to be be working. It didn't work when I test drove it but then the dealer fixed it and I saw that is was working when it was on the trailer. Now...nothing. Any quick things I can check to on my own to diagnose?

    thx!

In regards to the beeping. Is the beep the same beep as when you first turn the key (loud and aggressive)? or does it sound like a different beep that is a little quieter and softer and sounds like its coming from the speedometer area?

Did the display ever read a depth or was it flashing blank? that display will also read air temp and water temp if you push the arrow, were you able to cycle it through?

When you say the taps plate isnt working, is it the guage that isnt working or is the plate physically not moving when it is in the water? is it physically moving while out of the water on the trailer?

TAPS i got working. looks like the stereo shop flipped the fuse panel under the steering wheel. Once I turned that on, the TAPS now works. Haven't had a chance to put it back in the water and see if that also fixes the beeping.

The beeps are coming from the speedo area. depth is displayed on the left gauge but flashes on and off in sync with the beeping. Hopeing it had to do with the fuse panel but won't know until I get it running in the water again.

      thx!

Could be the shallow water warning if you depth finder is messed up. I had that happen on another boat, not a Tige.

Sounds like its your depth gauge. Just pull the power or ground for it and see if beeping stops and you can confirm its the culprit.
