    Just...wow

Hopefully this is good for a weekend laugh. BTW, that is not the original bolt, so it was replaced to keep tower together. Guess which chunk of metal is losing the battle to hold the tower together??!!
Don't want to elaborate, but will say new this is a new boat to our shop for service. This is a safety issue that makes me cringe. Can still make out NV reg numbers on hull. If anyone knows a banana yellow 24v from NV I'd love to hear some history.

The amazing part is the boat came in for some tower lights not working, stereo issues, and gauge lights out. Some people's priorities. Customer DECLINED tower repairs. Gets me all fired up.

Looks like a 2006 dash and tower? At that time, Boats of Nevada was selling a ton of boats in the Vegas area, as the Nevada housing situation was skyrocketing. Out of business 3 years later, like a lot of dealers at the time.

What is the name of the type of bolt that is supposed to go there? IIRC, it is a smooth bolt with a square latch on it to stop it from sliding.

I would make them sign a release of liability when they pay the bill on the other stuff...stating that you told them tower is dangerous and should be properly repaired and they declined. People are crazy....someone gets hurt, finds out it was in your shop 2 weeks before and you get sued.
              Just saying, I would CYA

That is a great point Tigefamily. I spoke with him and he stated they DO NOT pull from it. I said may as well just take it off then, retorted that he needs the racks to hold boards. Smh. It's been like that since he bought it apparently. It's a Samson tower. I'm sure with a little digging we could get the whole base leg from them and just replace the whole leg instead of fabricating a new "ear". It was all i could do to convince him to do an impeller and hes had the boat 3 years with no prior knowledge of when it was serviced...like I said, stereo and lights are higher on the priority list. I hate refusing service but this is one I would be happy to not see again.

Don’t worry, it’ll end up sinking and won’t have to see it again. Hopefully he doesn’t have kids.
