    Raptor engine

Just a quick thumbs up to this engine
Iv only used this new tige a few times but wow I'm so impressed with this engine (raptor 400)the down low torque is pretty amazing, being a new 2nd hand boat with 200hrs on it and no faults in the touch screen,is also pretty impressive,I haven't really gave this engine a work out pulling skiers just yet,but I'm sure it pull the arms out of the ski team, the wake boarders love the boat and the power the engine produces
Can't wait to get back in the boat, it's going to be awhile though with winter aproaching fast
Safe boating over there and have fun this summer for you guys

Unstuck it gets down to zero degress over night sometimes, and around 18 degress through the day,not sure what that works out to be over there in the USA
Yeh jet driver it is a beast,I didn't really notice the power at first I was to busy on the touch2 screen and working everything out to notice what the boat (engine)was doing I had the tanks 3/4 full for wakeboarding and one of me mates said this bloody thing has a lot of grunt, wasnt till then I started noticing what it was doing, with all the ballast and 6 big fellas in the boat, the fuel consumption is way more than my last boat though, mercruiser tow sports 315 hp,but I'll take this boat and motor anyday, just a pity I didn't find the boat at the start of the season instead of the end of season
I don't think I'll swap ya jet driver but if you come over here you can have a go of it haha

You should be fine with it dropping down to zero, but there’s always the risk. It’s not hard to drain the block by taking out a couple plugs or you could put a bulge heater/light bulb in and be fine. I’d say use the heater and then once you know you’re done for the season do a winterization and oil change.

The Raptor certainly is a beast. Variable Valve Timing certainly helps the towboats out a lot. Youd be amazed at some of the changes you will get out of props as well. Sounds like you are predominately skiing and wake boarding with a but of surfing?? Depending on what prop you have now it may be worth looking into a prop that will help get those higher speeds. Your holeshot characteristic may change a bit, but since you mentioned guys feeling the burn getting up I think you won't even notice if you went a bit steeper.

Thanks freewheelin,we are new to wake boats having ski boats for 40 years, wakeboarding is new to us but we love it but not very good at it just yet,I brought the boat to surf behind because I'm 55 and skiing hurts abit at my age with all the injuries I have,we haven't really had time to have a good surf session behind the boat just yet,and a few of my mates arnt interested in it atm
A different prop mite be worth looking at,if I can't the family and mates into surfing
Hers a photo of our ski boat before the RZR turned up,these boats are made in Australai and are very popular over here
It's a lewis 21 eclipse mercruiser tow sports engine
