The OP just wants to surf! Let's get him surfing for the least amount of headache as possible.

Simple answer is yes there will likely need to have some hull work done before it will be optimal.
Regardless of the keyboard lawers and warriors, work with your dealer or another reputable Tige dealer (X2 I hear Germaine In Utah does good work)
Get a quote (in writing) for the cost to modify what you need done.
Get all your warranty questions out before they start mixing resin.
Also, as a good measure maybe visit a dealer that has an ASR modification completed and Surf it....thus ensuring your investment is worth the money.
Either way, hope you get it worked out.

Warranties are great when you have a legitimate OEM defect, however IMO can be abused if people constantly make warranty claims for wear and tear, poor maintenance, etc and blame the manufacture for "poor workmanship" the dealers and the manufacture are not stupid. If you Hammer down on your boat every weekend, slamming into docks, dropping lead on the gel, yea your boat will be hammered....not a real warranty claim and not a workmanship issue. That's an owner problem. So sure you can warranty the boat plug....still won't cover a sunk boat because the owner forgot to put it in. Boat plug works just fine, owner just don't know how to use it.
My life's journey is not ending up looking pretty, its sliding in broadside, used up, worn out, screaming "What a Ride"

We have experimented with how much hook to put in... this one is money.... rocks over killer with taps 3 etc. The hull still wants massive weight, but it takes a boat that was troublesome and makes it pretty good IMO. Lots and lots of work is the only point im trying to make people understand. They see that number and go.... whoa. And dont quite understand the reasoning why...
I hear ya. Just had a guy that needs a block swap from a MASSIVE overheat that resulted in a seized engine. He balked at the fact that we were 2 hours over in labor compared to another bid he got. Explained we do lake test on block swaps instead of just a fake a lake. Also explained there's a good chance he has melted harness that will need repaired and trim lines (is an I/O). Guessing he won't go with us. Doesn't hurt my feelings at all.
Schedule is swamped out until June. New boats are coming in and out, and warranty work is cropping up here and there.
        Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the more detailed report. As a person who quotes lots of work I’ve found it nessasary to spend more and more time explaining the job to someone as the more zeros get added. In this case it was once explained something about pie shapes under the transom being done or not done and $x to fix it. It’s much more clear now and easier to justify the price.
