Anyone got any before/after hull mod pics? It'd be cool to see what the mods look like.

So you're saying the glass work alone is going to cost more than $3500? You quoted me $5-7k for the mod with taps 3 a little while ago, and the OP already has taps 3 installed. So yeah, I guessed and said half the cost, which I assumed would be pretty accurate. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Well that part of it has yet to be said. It does make a person wonder how the mod would affect the lifetime hull warranty. Maybe that could be clarified?

We are big fans of mead and powell as well and hit both of them at least once a year, but we also like to boat every weekend, so that means the closer lakes too. We'll be at Bullfrog starting June 22 for our first powell trip this year.

Has anyone ever had a claim against a “lifetime hull warranty?”

What the heck goes wrong with a hull?

And that might just be why they are so willing to warranty it! Sounds great. They should extend that warranty to cover the oil pan and windage tray, the harmonic balancer, every brass NPT adapter, the bilge drain plug and fitting. The list could go on and on! They'd have the best (useless) warranty in all of the boating world!!!

I was told by my dealership adding taps 3 onto a 2014 or older voided the hull warranty

Are you asking because you don't know? Or are you asking so that you can explain how and why you think its too expensive. Either way it doesent read well from my perspective so I am going to give you my .02 from as much of a level headed mindset as possible.

Do you have any idea how much work is involved in this type of project? No need to answer that actually, you are the one asking so its safe to assume no. The glass work alone is a bundle to do right. I am talking function and aesthetics. As to the number you say I quoted you....sounds like a blip in our communication because that number is inaccurate. Obviously we could have been eating some of the cost if it were going to be on a boat we were selling to you, or maybe we were just willing to eat some of the cost since you are a utah guy who we wanted to be happy. Cant tell you anymore then that.

To do a correct change, that functions awesome, is more then a weeks worth of work. Glass, templates, fill, gel, measurements, hook, its a massive job that has to be correct. Its a also a job thats super labor intensive. So many variables between the gel, the shape the hull is in, as well as dealing with any other changes that someone might have tried to make previously which always gets forgotten.

Here is a good example of a tweak that is actually being troublesome and one that is bullet proof. Both ASR's, both modified. Ours is the white hull and the dark hull is not. This should tell you all you need to know....

Hope that clears up any confusion regarding the misinformation on pricing, amount of work etc... Lots of stuff that we change and tweak that isnt pictured below as well. Keep things in perspective. We are proud of how it performs and the work that was put into it. We put a value on that time.

Pretty sweet J. Like how the chine line is just gone. I know y'all don't want to hand out a how to, and we aren't modding ASRs, but curious if you are bumping plates out after you are done?? Won't hurt my feelings if I don't find out.
Clean work. Wish we had the time and space to do glass/gel in house. Soonish.

We are bud. The hull pictured that is dark is super narrow, taps plats almost touch the center plate. A hull tweak gone bad from what the customer is explaining. When we get done it gives us a little more runway, the boat rips believe it or not surf wise. We have experimented with how much hook to put in... this one is money.... rocks over killer with taps 3 etc. The hull still wants massive weight, but it takes a boat that was troublesome and makes it pretty good IMO. Lots and lots of work is the only point im trying to make people understand. They see that number and go.... whoa. And dont quite understand the reasoning why...
