New Tige Owner - first time out and have some questions

Hi everyone! I've been a boat owner for over 12 years, but just joined the Tige family.

My boat is a 2015 ASR with the 2016 TAPS3 system included in the Tige Touch 2 interface.

Here are a few questions/issues I had that I would love some help with:

Engine: High RPMs with not much speed. I have the Indmar 440 and with empty ballast and my family of 6 (~4 adults and 2 small kids) it really seemed to be running too high of RPMs. My speed topped at ~30 MPH at 5000 RPMs (~6000 ft elevation). Any thoughts here on what to look at/for? I'm not sure what prop it has on it now. I can't imagine that any prop would make that big of a difference to lower the top speed and jack the RPMs that high. I can't imagine this is normal.

    Surf Wave:
I really struggled getting a good surf wave, and it looked like the TAPS 3 tabs just made it worse. The only decent goofy wave I could get was from these settings:
    - Ballast: Starboard front and back full. Port front empty, rear 68%, TAPS 2 set to 8 at 12 MPH. Only got a bow rise of 2 degrees, but roll at 6 degrees. Any idea on how to get more bow rise? (Assuming that's part of the wave secret sauce.
    - Note I don't think TAPS 3 was engaged at all. When I played with the TAPS 3 surf left and surf right and 100%, evenly-weighted ballast, I could feel the boat switch a bit from side to side, but no side was clean at all. My previous boat had a GoSurfAssist system and that worked much better than what I saw today.

I also tried Elevated's recommended settings below, but couldn't get the bow rise, and couldn't get a good result.

Would love any help/advice you guys may have!

    Style- Skim
    Regular/Goofy- regular/goofy
    front left- 100%
    front right- 100%
    rear left- 100%
    rear right- 100%
pnp?, yes, 500 lbs each side
    people? 2-4
lead?, 400lbs a rear corner, 400 in bow
    speed, 12-12.5
    taps 2 (2)
    taps 3 (1)
Inclinometer on dash or on phone reading 6 degrees of bow rise with 5 degrees of list

Your choice of prop can most definitely make that much difference. Sounds like you have a tractor prop on there now.
I can’t be much help with setup on that boat as I’m not familiar with it.
I have heard some people that held on to them were removing the VX plate and having some sort of hull modification done to make it surf better. That paired with TAPS 3 and you’ve basically got an RZX.

Yeah you need to confirm that your tabs are actually working, once they are try to level the boat out a bit.

I just confirmed my prop is an Acme 2419- 15x12v L - .075 cup. The prop finder tool at Wakemakers suggests the Acme 2315 for high altitude/heavy ballast. It's 15x12 - .105 cup. It doesn't look that different to me.

That .105 cup will make it much different than a .75. It should give you much more top end. I’d call ACME direct though. Also wait for Mike (chpthril) to chime in here before you start throwing money at props.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

2 of the three, the most impactful 2, are the same, only the cup is different. So their overall performance is going be be very close. For a big weighted surf boat loaded with ballast and @ 6k elevation, I think you likely have a correct prop. If reaching speeds over 30 or extended high speed runs are what you need, you may need a different prop and the 2315 is not it. Just note, you are going to give up some bottom end performance.

Thanks guys - I'm not super worried about top-end speed, but it really didn't seem right that the boat was topping out at 30 mph with a light crew and no ballast. Is that normal from the ASR with the Indmar 440?

Its normal for the prop.............on ANY tow boat. These boats are not speed (planing) hulls, but actually closer to a displacement hull in design.

Wow, my 2018 R23 goes 46mph from the factory with a crew of 4 and the Raptor 400. (Atlanta)

Add a 1000 of bigger bull, more weight and a low torque prop and you’ll be in the same boat.

Anyone know how to get into dealer mode to test my taps 3?
